Good question @scottryana

No matter what the temperature this is a fantastic build
Absolutely, one of the cleanest builds currently on mud. I just don’t understand the need to try and derail with the boomers comment that made absolutely no sense.

Youth looking for significance is my guess. But I digress! I love how Quiet toyota diesels sound. Yeah you know it's a diesel but any dodge guy is gonna snap his neck in a double take

1HD-FTE is a super well balanced engine. Its design was the result of 10 full years of engine development in the HZ/HD family.

It’s an incredible power plant for its time.

Maybe he was talking about me, I was born in 1973 but pretty sure that is to new to be a boomer.

John and Onur are younger than me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cheers

a lot of acoustic insulation on the FTE too. injector pump and valve cover being most notable.
the latter years of the FT gained a fair amount, a lot of it gets discarded over the years.

What guages/EGT monitoring system did you guys go with? Maybe hadn't been posted yet or perhaps since it's electronic you didn't need a stand alone?

1hd-fte ECU will give you only these sensors:
- engine coolant temp
- intake manifold pressure ( boost )
- engine rpm
- vehicle speed
- intake air temperature

The boost is useless as the gturbo module will modulate the signal going to the MAP sensor ( what the ECU actually sees )

@SNLC I am still thinking about doing the cross-over delete, can you share how did you go with deleting the shut off solenoid? Did you put the delete mod or you kept it connected?

Regards,

Jorge

Really not much of a picture but it marks a big moment. We are wrapping the dash harness, installing HVAC system and putting the dash back in it. 😆

So we had really hoped to have the carpet and seats in by the end of today but it just didn’t happen. It took a fair amount of time to get the dash all in, we adjusted some wire lengths while we did it that hogged up some time.

I really like the EGT gauge and its location.

Video of the work this week.

I think we are just about right into carpet and seats come Tuesday. 😆

Oh ya, from the get go with the H152 we had a 79-series shifter. Once the dash was in it was clear you would hit your knuckles on the dash using it. I just so happen to have a few OEM HDJ80 H151 shifter assemblies on the shelf so swapped it out and all is well. 😎
