BirfMark, you rule !!! You cannot imagine how difficult is for us over here in Europe to reach this kind of material.
I'm looking forward for the FSM!!!

Thanks in advance !!!!

2013 and this thread is still gold! Just saved me and my '97 while on vacation 700KM away from home. Had to finally register for the forum just so I could post my appreciation for all the great work put into this EWD. Now I can enjoy the rest of my vacation without having to worry about how I'm going to get home.

Thanks!

Thanks for the time you've spent to help all of us out. Appreciate you, Birf!

Problem solved thanks to BirfMark's EWD,
It was the tail light fuse. I would have never guessed that the interior lighting (some of it) uses it as a power source.

Thanks
Jeremy

It now says "Not Found Error 404" Any one know where I can get this?

Search actually works on this site :)

Search for -> birfmark 1996 ewd

and you'll find an alternate download link...

cheers,
george.

Would this be at least a good “baseline” for comparing to a 96 lx? I have heard that some of the wiring is different.
Why does no one look in the RESOURCES section?????

I was just browsing the Tech forum looking for something to read and this was just there so I read it. My apologies. But thank you for the link  But isn't the 96 and 97 different? Thought I read something about it when looking into ripping out my alarm system, or doing the heated seats

Not that I'm aware of. The RS3000 alarm should be identical to any FZJ80 95+. All connectors should match exactly. The LX450 did not have the factory connectors under the center console for factory heated seats. Mine is a December 96 build date/97 model year. With very few exceptions, it is electrically identical to the 96/97 FZJ80.
