2013 and this thread is still gold! Just saved me and my '97 while on vacation 700KM away from home. Had to finally register for the forum just so I could post my appreciation for all the great work put into this EWD. Now I can enjoy the rest of my vacation without having to worry about how I'm going to get home.

Would this be at least a good “baseline” for comparing to a 96 lx? I have heard that some of the wiring is different.

Not that I'm aware of. The RS3000 alarm should be identical to any FZJ80 95+. All connectors should match exactly. The LX450 did not have the factory connectors under the center console for factory heated seats. Mine is a December 96 build date/97 model year.
