Decided to move on from Land Cruisers (for now) and focus on some other things in life. Spending most of my time in Argentina/LatAm, back school, health stuff, the usual.

I'm definitely forgetting a bunch of stuff. As I remember, I'll update this thread. But here's what I can remember for now:

Body:
1993 HZJ75 Troop Carrier LHD
Body blown apart, rotisserie, fully refurbished using NEW OEM panels
Wide-nose conversion 79/78/77 Series
80-Series triple locked frame (painted, new brakes/lines, axles rebuilt, T/C rebuilt, Nitro Gear axle shafts, ect...)
OEM Wheel Flares
Alu-Cab Top
ARB Bumper

Drivetrain:
Freshly rebuilt 1HD-FTE (zero miles)
Terrain Tamer HD Radiator
PDI Intercooler
GTurbo Red wheel
Rebuilt Injection pump
H152 (Brand new)
NPC Clutch

Included:
Emu-Wing gullwing windows
Mini fridge
Tons of parts to finish the project. Like, a lot. I'm not even going to try and list them all. Glass, dashes, trim, lights, ect...

Needs:
Paint finished
Suspension
Fuel tank
Odds and ends
Assembly

I have an absurd amount into this. The drivetrain alone is worth a good amount.
Looking for $60k.
I'm not in a huge rush to sell, so lowballing is a waste of time but I'm sure Ian wants it out of his shop or a new client to take over at some point in the near future.
Put a little of cash into this and you will easily have a $120k+ rig.
Located in Boise, Idaho.

I don't come on Mud much any more but I turned on email notifications for PM/DMs. I'll do my best to answer any questions if you're genuinely interested in purchasing.

There's a billion pictures in the thread and I'm sure Ian will upload more.

Older pic to give you an idea:

I am sad. ☹️

Life happens though and I myself have passed on projects or Cruisers I didn’t want to sell. Parted my Patrol rock crawler years ago and wished I hadn’t.

I will add to the “needed to” finish list later today. Feel free to message me here or by email for my cell number so we can have a direct conversation.

The build thread tells all, very rare opportunity if you want the ultimate Troopy.

Cheers

Such a good truck, and an incredible project at a fair price for some one to take on. Selfishly, I hope you change your mind because the work that you and Ian have done have been a guide post to what I want to accomplish with mine. I'm no where near the bench mark y'all set, but it's great to have goals and standards to try to obtain.

All the best in your new endeavors.

Alright here is my list of needed to finish.

-Fuel tanks, main tank has to be custom made, can be as big as 40-50 gallons. Sub tank tank, an 80-series will bolt in but requires moving the filler neck to the RHS.

-Engine mounts need to be welded out, only tacked welded right now, trans mount is done.

-Plumbing, only axle hard bake lines are done so it needs fuel lines, A/C lines, power steering lines, ect-all. There may be A/C lines but we have been tig welding the right correction on these for easy adaption to a common A/C compressor cap.

-50hrs or so in wiring remaining.

-Inter cooler plumbing, Tony got a big VDJ front mount which we have test fit but the plumbing for it will need to be custom made and or fitted.

-Exhaust, fully custom built 3” is what it needs.

-No sliders or side steps, will need to be custom made.

-No rear bumper, best would be custom made but something like a Kaymar could be made to work by customizing the mounting to work on the 80-series chassis.

-Drive lines, Tom Woods is the easy solution there.

-Primer, body is ready for primer all around. Outside should get a high build before final sand. Seam sealer still needs to be applied as well.

-Steel dash needs a small repair and prepped for paint. The original was wasted and this is a good replacement Tony got out of Canada.

-Shocks and coil springs, we always do this last once the Cruiser is built. Tony planned to keep it low with around 285’s, if you stuck to that plan some OME 861/862’s would do the trick. We have a set of Kings remote resi shocks with adjusters here for sale if you want bling shocks. We also have low lift Jmax radius arms available too, these are the 0-2” and I do believe correct a smaller amount of caster. Tony does have rear lower and upper control arms here, adjustable and aftermarket. MetalTech iirc.

-Custom made belly and radiator slid plates if you desire such things. Tony was going to have us add a crossmember where the frame extension was done, it’s a good thing to do but not required by any means.

-Needs and air box, we were going to custom build one but that isn’t required. You do want 4” in and out on it.

A few things I am unsure if Tony has without checking all his boxes are; door cards and seat belts.

-Headlights are used and have some repairs. Grill is used with some scratches.

I know some time ago Tony had a spread sheet so maybe he kept track of parts purchased in it? Besides the obvious here is some goodies off the top of my head Tony bought some time ago for the project.

-Correct HDJ7x gauge cluster out of Australia, used but good.
-Entire HVAC system is brand new, thats all the dash stuff, condensor ect-all.
-Besides the main dash steel piece I do believe Tony bought everything new for the dash. Even a new OEM steering wheel and horn button.
-Door handles, locks, tail lights ect-all is brand new Toyota parts.
-Brand new OEM windshield and gasket.
-Big box of weather stripping, all new Toyota.
-I am sure there is much more, I would have to dig through all the boxes to say for sure what is here.

A few things Tony didn’t mention;
-It’s an 80-series tcase and full time 4wd. Fresh rebuild on it too.
-Brand new 105 steering box.
-Stock gears in the axles but everything fully rebuilt including the elocker motors.
-I think it has +30 injectors.
-No Unichip but you could easily add one.

Pick your color, pick your build out for “overlanding” and off you go!

We would like to be the shop that finishes the build but obviously that isn’t any sort of requirement for the sale.

Happy to chat at length with any serious buyers. We can go over cost to simply put it on the road or fully finish it out with all the bells and whistles.

Cheers

It got new OEM Toyota;
-intake manifold
-exhaust manifold
-A/C compressor
-Alternator
-Big boy OEM starter
-power steering pump
-vac pump
-Injection pump hard lines
-Lots more, see build thread for full pics and info on the engine build.

Few things I forgot Tony has;
-New door glass and rear door glass
-Dometic console fridge
-5gals of Lizardskin ceramic coating

I will dig in all his boxes when I get a chance and post more info plus pics of the goodies. See build thread, Tony went on multiple shopping spree’s when he got the Troopy sparing no expense on OEM Toyota parts. Much of those parts I suspect are NLA now.

It does need an intake 90*, we have one here that should work. It also needs an EGT gauge, we usually run Auber for that, exhaust manifold is tapped and ready for the probe.

I just added up hours we have into this build, well over 1,000!! Not surprised, these builds take us 1,000-1,500 man hours to complete.

We estimate about 300hrs left to put it on the road without paint or “overlanding” gear/kit.

It is an unfinished project but it’s 70-75% done and I don’t think any Cruiserhead will have a chance at another like this without building it from scratch.

Tony is giving it away at his price.

Cheers

1000 hours??? Good Lord.

This is a freaking steal.

Ya, these big builds we do take 1,000-1,500 hours or more to complete. That’s why the build threads are so long!

Bummer Tony. I was kicking around the idea of selling mine and buying yours a few weeks ago, but circumstances have changed and I realize it's not gonna happen.

GLWS.

I am pretty sure the injection pump is brand new vs rebuilt. I do believe every FTE in the shop has a new IP, only the FTs have rebuilt. FTE pump is still available new at a good price is why we go that route. Tony did the GTurbo order so I don’t have the transaction but again, I believe it is a new pump and will look at it tomorrow.

We were going to finish the Cruiser for Tony as a bare bones, painted driver. He was going to finish out the back, all the interior and “overlanding” things. He has seats but I don’t think they are included 🤫 We have the originals still which are 25yrs beat down and 406,000kms! We do have all of them though. I saw on the shelf this afternoon a new cover/lens for the HDJ79 gauge cluster which is the rocking cluster. Full cluster with tach, it may even have diff lock indicators, I will check. Outside mirrors new in the box too. Aftermarket door card pockets, I think they are Onestone. On and on with goodies. Do my best to dig into it in the next few days and post pics. Lots of that in the 75 page build thread as well.

Besides the parts which I will catalog better and photos I am happy to chat about what it needs, cost, projected hours and so forth, even if you want to DIY and finish the build. Maybe even if you are a shop but please let’s not tire kick or waste time.

Cheers

Buried in my phone but here are some pics of the Troopy with the grill and headlights.

Hopefully the new owner continues with a build thread. Would really like to see this thing finished. Such a cool truck .

Nobody has pulled the trigger yet, I expected it to be sold by now due to the high interest from a number of folks.

Cheers
