If it had an H55F, I would be tempted, but the automatic kills it for me.

would an H55 sweeten the deal? there is a possibility of including one

I appreciate the offer, but it would be more logical for me to just get one that doesn’t need to be converted.

Not really, most conversions are done sloppy or short-cut.

If it had an h55f done properly it would be a $8-10K higher truck

Buy this one and send it here for the conversion, we do a ton of them

I’m not talking about getting one that’s been converted, I’m talking about getting one that was that way from the factory.

In that case you are going to be looking at beat used trucks from South America or Middle East that are carbureted (and probably listed for more money). Totally different story to a US market 62 that lived a nice easy life.

No, I'm looking at 12HT models in Spain. Most of them I'm seeing are in much better shape than the ones here.

An HJ61 and an FJ62 is an irrelevant comparison.

I never compared one to the other.

you are obviously cross shopping, which is comparing

zero difference in getting a 'factory' 5 speed vs paying to have a legit conversion done. you are paying the price.

no one can tell the difference, and you get to choose your Tcase (60 vs 62) and can clean up and upgrade parts and pieces with the upgrade as well.

these are 40 year old trucks that will require work no matter what.

good luck

Sorry for clogging up your sale thread with this random inane discussion Paul.

Looks like a super solid 62 and the seller is a long time respected member.
Buy with confidence.

I'd been in the market for maybe 8+ months at the time I bought mine just last month. You are in range, the magic number appears to be the mid 20's for the one that doesn't need a ton of work that falls in line with neglect, but still requires some things to be a trustworthy multiple drive a week (imo of course) - when you add levels of rust is when I start to lose track of appropriate price. But your starting price and adding obo seems appropriate based on all ive seen this year ..
