I have a set of front seats from a 1979 FJ40. They have the metal backs like 1979-1980 trucks, but are a perfect fit for all 1979+ 40 series trucks. Seat rails included. $300 plus the ride from NH.

Can the backs be removed to resemble stock 82 seats? I am looking for seats and will recover with Shane's covers.

Absolutely. The backs can easily be removed. They look exactly like my '81 seats with them removed.

Are the headrests black or is it just the images?

The PO dyed them black. I think he just used the rattle can stuff, so its probably removable.
