By the way, thsts a beautiful flint lock. Have been to the Friendship IN shoots?

I think most all frt ends can be converted to disc, except for maybe the ball and claw. You'll need everything from the knuckle out to the hub, along with birfs. There are 2 different knuckles, large pattern(79 & later) and small pattern (78 and earlier) both will work. Go to FAQ'S and scroll down to frt ends. There's good info in that section.
Finding all of those used to be easy, from what I'm reading.

But I think it's become a lot harder and expensive to pull off.

Regardless, I'd need new wheels as well in addition to the things I mentioned earlier.

BTW, managed to drive around the block today, awhile forgetting to take off the e brake. Dang it.

Then when I pulled into the garage, the new starter took a dump again.

Thanks to @Thechief86 and friend, fixed the starter and am well on my way to fixing the clutch.

I planned on pulling the front wheels and evaluating what needs to be done to fix the brake situation when a package arrived from @ToyotaMatt and it was Christmas again with some shiny new bits.

Today was grandkids day, but managed to get a little wrench time in.

But while in another town, I also scored this from Hobby Lobby.

Started on the driver's front wheel and got absolutely nowhere. Turned both adjustment wheels as far to loose as they would go. Wheel spins freely. Drum just says "frack you" and moves out 1/8 inch and back, even with a bit of prying and persuasion with a dead blow plastic hammer.

I'm open to suggestions.

So... I did some research, lubed up the hub with penetrating oil, put two large flat screwdrivers into the two holes 180 degrees apart and while prying with one hand and and a knee, whacked the living daylights out of the drum with a small sledge in my other hand and the drum almost leapt off the hub.

And, of course... Found new rebuilt cylinders looking about the same as the rears. And no perceptible lip on the drums. Shoes look fresh as well.

I am losing brake fluid somewhere, and oil is dripping from that hub, but they appear to be completely unrelated.

When I got this truck, the doors were badly fitted using various random hardware. I took hinges apart and bought a new hinge kit from SOR.

Now the doors close and latch properly with good gaps except where my dicked up driver's side top panel meets it

This was not the most fun job ever.

While the clutch doesn't work yet, and the brakes require two pumps to activate, the top is installed and surprise surprise, that vacuum transfer case works! I know now why Toyota used it. Very smooth, drama free switch to "Front Drive". Went off road for about 200 yards and have the mud to prove it.

I'm currently avoiding thinking about what's involved with getting the clutch working by overhauling the 3 speed column shifter. I started another thread here:

Bottom line: My conception of this rig requires column shift. Or at least would benefit greatly from it.

It's surprising, but most of the pieces required for an overhaul of the shift are still available from Toyota. And those that aren't have workarounds that are not that onerous.

My goal is to have the smoothest operation of the shifter mechanism as possible.

Went on another foray today to attempt to unstick the clutch by driving in 2nd gear and punching the accelerator while holding the clutch in. Made it a couple hundred yards before the skanky throttle cable pooped the bed.

I'm relatively inexperienced with cable throttles, but assume they sell various lengths of this cable with the little metal barrel thing already installed.

Otherwise, this is dead simple to fix.
