Yowzer!! Thats depressing, but I know I am in good hands with you Jason. I just cant believe someone would think that this work is "acceptable"

Amazing what you can cover with 1" of bondo. What a bugger. How does the metal look from behind the panels? Good luck.

The rear sill horns are swiss cheese, I'll need to rebuild those and place the rear sill where it belongs. Looks like the PO cut the horns off and welded them to a new piece of 2 x 2 then slapped a strip of 1/4" plate on top of that.

I'll cut it all out, re-build the horns and wrap the quarter corners. Rockers, cowl and front quarter will get clean metal patched in.

If I take time off work can I come be your shop b--ch and learn all this from you?? Wow!! I love watching your builds J!!!

What's amazing is how simple properly repairing many of those rust spots would've been for the PO. With the exception of the rear sill, I'd say it's even easier than doing all of the layers of bondo...

Now that I know how to use my MIG welder (not hard to learn at all!), I can't believe I was so intimidated by it.

Gorgeous work sir!

So, I checked my vaca balance at work and I am down to slim pickings.... So, I think I'm gonna save up some time and take a chunk next year and drive out to ya, wherever that may be, and work off a build up on my rig by putting in hours at your shop, if you'll have me! ;)

Yeah that's the 140, it's a great machine.

yeah you had a bondo buggy didnt ya.... mine was a bondo buggy at one time as well.... now its 100% steel (and rust) ... looking great so far... hats off to metal fabricators :)

Thanks Johnny, I love the challenge that these old cruisers give me. When I'm done with this one there will only be a thin skim coat of filler for leveling/aesthetic purposes. ;)
