Thanks for the info on the Pfaff, exactly what I needed.

Thinking of working up a soft top for that Troopie? ;)

No, I've got a soft top, brand new, came with the troopie. I do need to recover the seats at some point though and my wife wants to make window coverings for our house and recover some chairs we have.

Tell Kim to practice her skilz on the home-crap, there are standards for working on the Troopie...

Got a solid 3 hours on the lv tonight. Kinda all over the place.

First couple pics are of a part I made that accepts 1/4" pipe thread. I threaded it into 2 holes that were already in the firewall of the lv. The fittings I have are 1/4" mpt to 1/2" 90 degree barb. I had to remove the valve cover to get the one threaded in. It's a good 1" away from the motor and the fittings I got were rated to 240 F, I think it will be fine. The purpose of all this is to drain the AC evaporator from the inside.

Got my barb fittings in the water pump and intake manifold for the heater hoses, also threaded in a water temp sensor for the fan.

Installed the grill back on my freshly painted bib, I think that looks pretty sweet personally. Also bolted my seat frame back in, installed the heater back in the center console and re-assembled the lock and handle and bolted back up to the seat frame. Snapped in the seat heat switches just for fun.

Not sure what's going to happen for the weekend, thinking headliner??

Oh yea, last pic is of a clamp that came with the AC kit. Hopefully I will be able to locate a supplier. I would like to use something like this to fasten both heater hoses to the same 6 mm bolts that hold down the tranny hump. Run it along side the tranny hump around to the rear heater, keep it from moving around.

I'll let you know if I can't find them, I'm thinking MSC might have them also and we have an account with them :)

Steve, you should come up for about a week or so and help me wire :D My mechanic buddy who is extremely familiar with auto wiring and keeps promising to help me is to busy snowmobiling with all this snow we have been getting.

Just think You and me, 18 hour days.......oh the fun ;p

You laugh bud...I was just talking with the 'root last night about flyin' in here, and crashing your place for a few days....

Back to tech.... ;)

I thought that you could not get the tunnel in/out with the seat frame in place... :)

Wiring would be a hoot! as would putting fire to the fuel and feeling it come to life....

I have Dengol heading up over St.Patties weekend to play trucks at my place....

Orion updates/ARB install/bumper mods/drinking :)

Keep at it Matt....you will have this truck going very soon....

Oh, you found usable tail lamp housings/assemblies?

You and Mike.....crashing at my place for a few days.........I like the sound of that, now that would be fun! I'm trying to imagine if we would get anything done or just BS about LV's?

As far as the getting the tunnel in and out with the seat frame in. You can, but very tight. If needed, I will probably unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the seat frame in and slightly lift it up to get it in or out.

I've got some tail lamp housings, but they aren't very good. I will use them if I have to, the gaskets are totally gone. Are you implying that you may have a nice decent set? ;)

Not a real hard day on the lv today. Slept in and felt pretty lazy. About 4 to 5 hours, but not trying real hard during that time. I was going to do the headliner, but decided to work on the doors.

Pretty much hauled out the doors to the booth. Got the doors stripped down, frames out, handles, and hinges. Seam sealed all the edges. I was planning on wet sanding, but some scratches that were to deep to get wet sanding. So, sanded with 220 dry and the plan is to do a little more tomorrow and then spray a couple coats of urethane primer.

Hopefully I will be able to wet sand out of that Monday night, but then I won't get paint on until I get back from Dallas next week.

Full day on the lv today, doesn't look like much, but worked pretty much all day.

Continued sanding on my doors. Shot a couple coats of ureathane primer. I let that dry for a solid hour and then mixed up some epoxy primer. I used a foam brush and brushed some epoxy primer inside the doors where the gun couldn't get in. Not a big deal, but just wanted all bare metal covered up with something to prevent rust.

I went back in my shop for a while and cleaned up for quite a while. Later this evening I went back out and wet sanded the doors out. They all look pretty good. I'll see how tomorrow goes, but if I get home early enough I might try to spray paint, that way it can dry while I'm gone next week.

Got the wife involved again :princess: I had her cleaning up the glass for the lv. I've got the local glass guy coming out tomorrow morning with my new windshield. Plan on having him install that plus all the other glass, want it good and clean for the install.

Wow..........

Looking super good, putting down paint is so exciting, things are starting to really come together.

Are you using the original glass or having new stuff cut?

We cut all new glass for one of our restorations, it turned out nice having new glass without all the little scratches from years of dirt.

Only down side its less factory without the toyota enscribed on the glass.

Matt, is there a benefit to having the glass in place before you paint?

Looking great!!
