he has the front hinges right.

the other two came from the outer ends of the seat under the welded hinges between the lowers and upper and i think towards the back. sorry i can't help more than that.

Well, about a solid 5 1/2 hours on the lv today.......but that was also with 3 people so more like about 16 1/2 man hours.

Didn't get started right away I had to round up my help. Both of the guys that were going to help me were replacing an exhaust manifold gasket on a BIG versatile bi-directional tractor this morning. I swung over there this morning and by the time that was done and we got going on the lv it was around 2 pm.

My mechanic buddy/marlboro man and my other friend Broncoabandoner gave me a hand....3 grown men crawling around the inside of the lv installing a headliner......it was like an episode of Orange county choppers

I would have to say putting it mildly.....the headliner was a challenge. I don't know how Toyota installed something like that coming down and assembly line, but I don't think I would have wanted to do it with any less than 3 people?? It seemed like we all had a job, holding, pulling, pushing, drillng, screwing, etc......it sucked!

The headliner fit was ok I guess, the only thing that I think SOR should have made a change on was the amount of material on the sides. On the ends we had a good couple inches +, but on the sides there was absolutely no extra!! We had to use a needle nose pliers to pull the fabric just to make the edge of the wood, it was a major pain in the ass not having any extra material to pull on.

After all that it did get installed and installed rather well I think Overall the headliner is nice and tight with minimal rinkles....and the few little ones that are there I think will easily come out with a heat gun or just sitting in the sun for a few days. I left the extra material that was there still there. Figured I would give it a couple days and maybe a day in the sun or 2 just in case I need to tug on something again...... In any event the headliner is in!!!

Pretty solid day on the lv today, about 8 hours. Kinda all over the place today...

Started working on the chrome center hood piece. When I was removing it the center stud broke off. I drilled out the old remaining stud and then drilled a new hole about 5/16" of an inch. I ground down the head of a 6mm bolt and recessed it slightly into the hole and welded around the edge, should work perfect again.

Installed the 2 piece tranny hump I had painted up last week. I put some 1/4" x 1" closed cell sef adhesive foam around the peremter of both pieces. Figured I would try to seal out as much moisture and dust as I can. I had to move my seat frame back for the hump install, but it's only 4 bolts so no big deal. Also fastened down my heater hoses running to the rear heater...When I had the powersteering hoses made I picked up some clamps that I knew would work well for that.

Dug the front seats out, I know some of you will remember those from an episode a while ago I hadn't installed the tracks yet so I did that and wanted to toss the front seats in....I might have to pop them out for making my carpet but for some reason I just wanted to bolt them in and see how it looks. I also might get a couple brake lines finished up this week and if that happens I might take it for a drive ;p

Installed my steering wheel, I might have to re-position it again, but at least all the parts are on and it works.

Had the sound deadening mat/heat shield stuff I had ordered a while back with the fabric for the seats. Also the carpet I had ordered then to. Got both of those out rolled out.....just kinda wanted to roll it out and look at it and get a feel for it. Start planting seeds in my head of how I'm going to sew up my carpet set.

So I missed this part, Your using 79 and newer front seats?

The colors are very "Rich and Classy" I would never pick it, But after seeing them I would want nothing else! I see martha's sewing machine getting some requests after the LV is completed..

You could have met my wife, not sure about the legend though? ;p

She did meet Kurt Williams from Cruiser outfitters out of Utah, Kurt was there for the competion representing Utah. She got a pic of Kurt and her and a few others, when a co-worker emails them might have to post a few of them

No need for the headrests, thanks anyway....I have them out of the 79, but not sure if I want to use them yet? I think it looks a little more retro without them, I can put them in at anytime if I decide.

How is the headliner attached to the roof? I can see the wood strips on the side, but what is keeping the nice arch.

I should have taken some pics of that before I installed them

There are 7 metal pieces up there that hold that shape. 3 of them are just metal wires basicly that snap into the 3 welded roof supports. The other 4 are heavy, approx. 3/8" dia. pre-formed rod in the shape of the roof that screws into each side of the body up near the roof.

All 7 of them slide into canvas sleeves that are sewn in on each seem on the top side of the headliner.
