What’s up with the interesting looking friction pad and surface inside the hub?
I don't really know, it had electric brakes originally but I disconnected them. Planning to replace the axle in the next year or so, just going to pull all the brake guts out and run without until then.

Picture isn't very exciting, new seals arrived so I put those in, greased the bearings, and put it all back together.

You are doing a great job on this little trailer. It is definitely better quality than you would get in a new trailer today. I've had a brand new travel trailer that had pieces on the floor when I went from the dealer to my house.

Thanks, its been a long slow process with lots of dead periods but as soon as I buy some tires its usable at least and the rest of the finish and amenities can happen in time.

Got the step installed this weekend, it doesn't quite line up with the door due to the trailer frame location under the floor which is annoying but it'll work. I've also been trying to figure out how I was going to build the shelf in the bathroom and make it water tight. The brainstorm I had this weekend is to repurpose the old sink. I have to clean it up still but I think it will work and its a cool way to reuse one of the few salvageable pieces of the original camper.

It looks like your step is slightly to the right of the door? It might be a good thing since the open door will keep you slightly right. It does look to align with the open door.

I'm not sure what your plan is with the old sink but I'm confident it will look good since everything else you did has been well thought out.

Correct its probably about 1.5-2" off center to the right, not a big deal, and as you noted since the door opens to the left your approach is maybe slightly to the right anyway. I just know I am going to see the misalignment every time I look at it.

Its going to serve as a shelf, a place to set your toiletries or some extra TP or whatever.

Cleaned the dirt and grime and any light rust off the rims and hubcaps and threw a quick coat of black on them before putting them on the camper.

Major design flaw of the Trailblazer that I learned about while doing this, the wheels don't fit into the wheel well unless you deflate them some, would've cute the wheel well out more if I had known this before. Seems to be common on all Trailblazers for several model years based on what I heard on the Trailblazer FB page.

Any tricks from the Trailblazer owners? Or a way to get that extra room? Maybe a way to lift on the frame as well to take weight off the spring? Maybe jack it up higher than needed to clear the ground and carry a light jack stand to put under the frame rail so you can lower the jack under the axle enough to get the wheel on?

Everyone just says air down the tire and re-inflate once its on. My lift location was on the frame not the axle. A few people have cut out or altered the panel on the front of the wheel well. I'd like to eventually put a timben suspension under the camper so hopefully its just a short term issue.

As someone who would be annoyed by that...

...this is what I was thinking. You get a bit more step on the side opposite the door hinge which is a good thing.

Cool build thread.
