The keys got tacked in Sunday, today I used the grinder to remove a little weld so the yokes would slip on.

The other piece was already done, so now the driveshaft is ready.

Fading daylight and glare on the screen, all I could do is point and shoot.

I was surprised by how bright it is, but already getting use to it.

Made a piece to reinforce the front body mount, under the radiator.

Also made a mount for the roller fairlead on the rear winch, the tube pieces will weld to the bumper. That will put it where it needs to be.

Adding 1/4" plate to the inside, it will tie the two sides back together, leave only enough opening for the fairlead, and make it stronger. The tubing the back gate drops into was only attached to the sheet metal, when trees grabbed the back gates on the trail it really messed it up. I will also be using angle to tie the tubing into one of the bed cross members. Already marked where they need to go, can't go straight because of the winch.

Sent the firewall pad back, it wasn't even close to being right. The label said 61-68 International pickup, and big truck. It isn't likely it would fit both anyways.

Made braces to support the tubing the back gates drop into, will trim off the corner sticking out where the cable will go.

This one I need to shorten about an inch, the bed crossmember doesn't go straight across. That's why it's at more of an angle. Will also put a piece of angle or tubing between the two pockets.

Looking at attaching the shock mount to the back side of this bed mount, using angle and flat plate. It will be a little forward of straight up and down. Looking for opinions of this idea please, won't have to drill new holes in frame.

This is what I came up with. I had to extend it directly away from the body mount bracket without a gusset, because there is a piece of tubing that sits on all of the mounts on one side, then there is another tubing next to it on the inside. Had to clear that. Just a reminder, the upper shock mounts had to be repositioned to make room for the winch. They were mounted at too much of an angle to be effective anyways.

Put the cab on to see how much room I have to reinforce the forward cab mounts on the frame.

They didn't paint the bottom, the agreement was every surface would be painted. I will be taking it back.

Have to remove the shifters to get the cab on and off.

This is what I wanted to see how much room I have to reinforce.

The front of the cab is right against the frame. The back is 1/4" higher because of the reinforcing, but I didn't think it would make this much difference. I couldn't find the very good used front mounts I bought, I put worn ones in there. Maybe the better ones will turn up, and will raise it up some.

All the way up is just right to clear everything.

I ended up sending the drum brake (primer red part) out to be bonded and riveted, it pushes against the drum when the drive is disengaged.

I'm back working on the steering box mounting area on the frame, these pieces go on the back side of the frame. The bigger one has the steering box pattern, I put the spring hanger pattern in the smaller piece. Well, I could only get three of the four holes. This will be welded back together once it's in there, wouldn't fit in in one piece.

I've got two more front cab mounts on the way, should be here Wednesday.

Finished removing a gusset that was welded from the front spring hanger to the bottom of the frame, the frame cracked across the bottom right behind it. I will be making a longer one, so it will extend past the crack. It wasn't easy to remove it, but I didn't want to leave it there and go over it.

Trimmed the bottom of the outside plate. I'm incorporating the gusset into the plate now, that's why I didn't trim it all the way.

View from underneath before I trimmed it.

I noticed this when I first took the bed off, will fix it while it's easy to get to.

I had an offer to paint the bed I can't refuse, so I'm getting it ready.

The 5/8" pin was sheared between the block and the axle housing, leaf spring center pin isn't sheared.

I already removed the one in the block using the drill press. Then started on this one, the drill walked some.

Got the spring and u bolts back together.

Had to make clearance for the rivets. Made the first one 1", then went to 3/4". 1" was too big.

Will trim it to fit tomorrow.

Putting angles on the front corners of the bed, so maybe it'll grab fewer trees.

I'm extending them a little forward of the bed too, will build a small triangle.
