Sooo.....
I just figured out what the difference is between the early tie rod ends and the 63 and up Tres.
What do I do now?

Edit
Nevermind, wasn't using the right ball joints.

I think you would just have to get a newer tie rod and relay rod. And maybe a new knuckle arms??, I cant remember if 63+ TRE will fit in the early knuckle arms.
I dont think you can get the old school TRE anymore.

im not oppsed to that, but the bell crank creates the same issue

Believe the bell crank was the same until 6/69. Was unaware of tie rod changes during the early years of the FJ40s. Do we know a date for the change?
I'm guessing 58-62, then 63 &up.

iirc, i just used a newer tie rod assembly on annie and all was fine
It seems that I can add a washer or two under the castle nut and might be fine.
I'm running out of thread before the tapper bottoms out.

Edit
Not sure what ball joints i was previously playing with....but the box from Kurt just showed up and those 555 Tres fit just fine....I just neeed new tie, and relay rods....which I should have replaced anyway.

Dont forget the felt padding on the gas tank straps.
I don't want something in there that's going to absorb moisture and stay wet.....it will get rained on during the summer.

Bent stub end.
Can't get a picture showing it, but today is brought to you by the letter S and number 5, not the letter I or number I.
