I've learned to only go with OEM, so Dan, what's the OEM sidearm??? :D Perhaps a 50 cal machinegun mounted to the factory roof rack!!! ;)

.50's work best from a ring mount on a cupola. The main issue, as I see it, is that the ammo belts drag on the roof and scratch it. >:( . In addition, the spent casings leave the chamber with enough energy to dent the hood so it looks like you have been in a hail storm. ;)

hey raven my glock 21 fits into the console, with the fobus holster along with my wifes 17

I just checked fit in my '93 Land Cruiser center console and it fits fine. If the console is empty, it will even lie flat on the bottom of the compartment. This was with a Springfield Armory Stainless 1911-A1 .45 ACP Hogue grips with a rubber grip on the bottom of the clip and the hammer in the locked back position with an empty chamber. I also had it in a Gould & Gouldrich suede sleeve holster.

Beautiful :) now have another expense to add to the list, do you have the two stage console or single? Can the can the LX upper (w/phone) be attached to either of the LC lowers? I will loose the… ahem “sub” in the front and the CD changer in the back but both of those were marked for death anyway

I can't see myself replacing the center console for a gun :-\ , makes more sense to get a "gun safe" that you can put under a seat, or a Tuffy locking box. Even though you may plan to always take the gun with you, that one time you leave it in the car for 5 minutes, at least you know it will be locked up.

wow, this is pretty cool to have some gunguys on this board. For relevance, my SA 1911 with S&A magwell will fit at a slight angle, the slide resting on the DS edge. The top of the console is recessed, so it closes.

You can always put it in the door panel.

Aren't all offroad fanatics just frustrated "cowboys" at heart? Guns and horses have always gone together. If we lived a hundred years ago, our Land Cruisers would be American Saddlebred's... ;)

Um,

I guess you have never been in a barn then? :flipoff2:

The 100 year old LCs are pretty cool until instead of fixing your Cruiser you need to fix fence and your next mod just went to buy hay. Why the heck are you guys putting guns in the console? Don't you guys just strap them on and take them with you everywhere? One bad thing about a concelled carry permit is the cops get pretty excited when they call in your license plate number and find out you might be carrying legally. We were on a run once and we came down of the hill and the police surrounded our whole club. They asked if anyone had guns in their rigs. I didn't and said, "No, we were a LC club not a gun club." And then I heard, "Yes officer, Yes sir, Yes, Yes" 15 times or so. OOOOPS! It turns out someone had been shooting up from where we came from and a stray bullet hit a senator's house. Nobody in our group had been shooting. We offered to take the cops up the hill to see what they could see, they declined. I cannot believe in a western town like Boise that they did not have any 4wd police vehicles available. Even funnier is, "Breaking the Law" came on the radio right as they surrounded us.

For me, i carry right on my right hip, to avoid printing if i tie my shoe/sit down/try on shoes/eat at a restaurant. The seat belt absolutely traps that bad boy in there.
