You guys think these CCOT rims will clear calipers?
If I knew the part number I'd be glad to look these up here in japan- but this is the first I have heard of an old type 16" wheel in a 6" width that is not a spoke style rim.
Best-
Pete
Toyota part number is:
42601-60040
see post 4 ( first page)

42601-60040 5.5K-16, W/WHEEL CAP RETAINER
42610-60021 5.50F-16, L/WHEEL CAP RETAINER

It appears that the K in the part number means solid and the F means split. Spoke to a good bloke at Sydney City Toyota.

He can get split rims from the sixties with clips. He doesn't have data back past 68 but going to look into it. By the by he has the later Hubcaps available. He is going to ring me next week.

Mark- I met that guy- Coco Cruisers. His name is Masa and he is a very nice guy. He is out of wheels. He was sourcing them in the Philippines. I hope to do business with him some day. He is involved in making entire 40 series bodies there.

The 5.5x16 rims are all NLA here as far as I can find. THe split rims are available as a70 series part number.

Has anyone else ever heard of a 6x16 because I have not.

Does anybody know anything about this?????

Hub Caps FJ40

http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/coolfj40_2177_19057679

I can't find any other info out there. Guess I should call CCOT, the price works out to about 150 a rim. What were they costing when still available mot???

I may get some, I'm just curious if they are making these or found a crate of originals.

these are NOT 16" wheels................they are indeed 15" X 5.5"

parts number 42601-60072

my 60 series parts book has a 42601-60082 wheel and is also listed as a 15" X 5.5" Valenzuela market wheel

I spoke with a CCOT representative today and the clarification on the website is being made

I wonder how many people ordered the wheels thinking they were 16". Pretty sure the price on stock 15" from a Toyota dealer is cheaper than CCOT price for these. I think your right about the non hub cap 16". toyota wheels. Just like everything else sure there are no longer available. Wasn't the Toyota Trailerblazer was a very limited import vehicle making finding a used one very hard to do much less finding a owner willing to just sell the wheels. I'll just have to settle with the FJ25 wheels I have enless someone in OZ finds a complete set of 16" wheels with hub cap clips and wants to trade.

I havent had time to look too much...but...i remember their being a toyota trailblazer/early 4runner with 16" steelie looking rims sometime around early 80's...however they didnt have tabs...but...they were 16" AFAIR

hmmmm:meh:

the reason I was optimistic originally had to do with the size that was listed. I was almost certain that a quantity worth listing would not be the original 16" OEM rim, and that perhaps Toyota resourced/re-manufactured a comparable rim and attached hubcap tabs.

I should have known better with the 16" X 6" measurements that it was a standard 15" rim

the 1 piece 16" rim measures nearly 18"'s in diameter from the O.D. rim

Man-

I am so freakin glad you guys caught this- I had a set in the shopping cart getting ready to ship them to Japan.....

Bummed- but nearly as much as I would be so pissed off after getting them here and having to fight with CCOT on getting it taken care of.

Fortunately I have a set of white 16x5.5 with clips in my garage....
