Is that a "Les Potato FJ45"??Back at work for the first time in a month. Good to know it still sucks.
Anyways, I had grandiose plans to do a bunch of work to the 60 while I was off, but I built this instead.
Old boat table I've had too long, and a lump of maple that's slightly too wide for my bandsaw

Quite a lot of whittling later...

Played with wood dyes for the first time ever. Fun stuff.

Yep I'm in the same boat, failed yearly inspection last month and need to do some work on the 75. Also have a pile of work to do on Andy.Nice work.
Yeah gotta do a bunch of work on my cruiser too. It's gonna have to dry for a day, cause I HATE being dripped on under it.
The dripping is an absolute deal killerNice work.

Exactly why I didn't install the shims yesterday...I avoid that like the plague. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve worked on a vehicle while it was pissing down…
My favourite thing it having a drop of cold water drip on my face, while straining to get to an awkward spot… and then having the cold water run across the side of my face and then down inside the face and then into my eat. Of course it always happens whé you’re half under the vehicle and can’t move out of it’s path.
I had a shiver go down my spine just thinking about it.
I'm at the debating whether to do the full brake job point as well as all this.Yeah gotta do a bunch of work on my cruiser too. It's gonna have to dry for a day, cause I HATE being dripped on under it.

I have pads and shoes, but I looked at the state of everything a month or so ago and just purged the fluid instead.
Should probably put in new calipers and rotors too, but I'll take a closer look when I'm doing the shims. Maybe I'll just say ****it and bang in some pads.
I also have a bearing kit for the rear end and a tre kit sitting on a shelf, and should probably pull apart the rear diff for a look at splines.

I think I bought the rear bearing kit 7 or 8 years agoHaha. Yeah, once the truck is DRY and in the shop, I guess it's worth crossing a few things off the list. Sounds like you have enough to keep you busy for a while.
I have a lot of stuff that's been waiting for quite a while to make it from box onto truck.... Once mine is in shop I'll try to keep motivated and push through quite a few items I've been procrastinating on. It's a lot and I just don't have the energy for it that I used to.
If it ain’t broke… you know.I think I bought the rear bearing kit 7 or 8 years ago![]()
