Bigger tires can be fit with a lift. Two words: Bump stops.

Bump stops are for folks that don't have a big enough hammer..... :hillbilly:

Lol. I do like your train if thought though. Maximizing the possible uptravel is smart, especially in an ifs vehicle with limited articulation.

I clearanced my wells the same way :)

It even looks like a mini-Hundy. The TRD Pro wheels are a nice touch too. How do you like it versus the 100? Same engine in a smaller package. Very nice 4Runner!

Thanks lndshark! I love it. I had a 1991 and a 2000 4Runner prior to getting the hundy and have always loved 4Runners. I think all SUVs should have tailgate windows that roll down! And yep the 4.7 is an awesome motor so a V8 4Runner was perfect for me. I think the hundy seat/sitting position is more comfortable and on camping trips I'm sure I'll miss the hundy size some. But I had 5 of us, 4 snowboards, 1 pair of skis, and all the other gear in the 4Runner Saturday for a 3 hour round trip and nobody complained. If the hundy had less miles on it I probably would have kept it. But now I have another solid Toyota truck with only 101,000 miles instead of 280,000. [emoji12]

Very nice truck!

I evolved from a hundy to a 4th gen 4Runner and now I'm in a GX470. Loved the hundy for the space and the comfort. Loved the 4Runner for the MPG increase, the back window, and the sportier handling. Now I've got all my creature comforts in the GX, includind KDSS which is just fantastic on the road. I miss the roll-down rear window. Cargo space-wise, once you pull the small third-row seats from the GX470, the cargo area seems to be a bit larger and taller than the 4Runner gets close to the space of a hundy. I'm glad I'm back in a V8 again. Forgot how nice a motor the 2UZ is.

Thanks chitown40! I had a 2004 GX, no KDSS but everything else, and yeah it was awesome. My ex still has it and I miss it like I miss every other Toyota I've owned.

Just the basic 5100's and Toytec 2.5 springs up front, and airbag trick in the rear for now.

color matching looks a lot better in that photo!

matches your plastic perfectly so it works.

I made my first real GoPro video today. It's a time lapse drive up I-24 to Nashville and back in my wife's GX. Most of my YouTube videos are off road shots of my 4Runner and friends.
