@marcfj60 runs are super awesome with all the information about the area and stuff on the trail.

Good idea! I have now purchased 3 racks from @nakman for my various trucks. First one was purchased prior to HiH4, and we had an install party in the camping area, with Tim helping to install my rack and also the rack he had brought along and given away during the raffle.

Fun times!

Having a celebratory drink after talking to Tim and placing my first order in preparation of HIHX. I love a nice rack! Thanks @nakman !!!!

Tim does have a nice rack LOL! I NEED to get some Gamiviti glasses to add to my collection. Lee, you should look into adding the side ladder and the removable grid panels. They are some seriously cool bit of kit. I love mine.

@nakman will those side panel and ladder work with the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform?

THIS IS MY YEAR!!!!
It’s a good excuse to upgrade to a REAL rear bumper though. “Honey I’ve got to get a bumper because we REALLY NEED this ladder and we have to have a bumper to make it work. It’s only $3k” o_O

Just buy her something of equal or greater value :) I got my roof rack and front bumper in exchange for a trip to Europe 2 years ago LOL.

Thanks for tagging me so I would realize there's a giant thread already going on this topic.

We'll be there as usual! Already starting to work on our raffle items. I look forward to this each year.
Maybe I'll get the front flaps on before this one to show off the great product to potential customers.

I am starting the petition for a PA system for the raffle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, let’s get rid of CB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll sign the petition (or contribute funds) to a PA system.

Having a working CB will absolutely make your day more fun on the trail. There is really no doubt about that.
Let’s talk more about cool stuff like @nakman and his racks, etc.

Yup Yup! Comm chatter is officially closed. Please have a working CB.

I know there are a lot of great events out there with fantastic trail leaders and sponsors, but there is NOTHING like HIH. Our trail leaders prepare for their runs like there's gonna be a test at the end. @marcfj60 and his wife are the epitome of family trail leaders. Their knowledge of the trail and the area is phenomenal and if they don't have an answer for you on what that flower on the hillside is called, they have books and resources stacked in their truck with the answer inside. If you're on a trail with @nakman, you're going to see an area that you didn't even plan on seeing. @geanes was a new trail leader for us last year and he went out on his own and mapped some new routes for this year.

We take trail leading seriously and all of our trail leaders have been to a minimum of three HIH events. Don't be afraid to talk to them about anything you may need. Most of us have kids and understand that potty breaks or diaper changes are part of being on the trail. Sam and Dr Bea's dog usually has at least one massive and loose bowl movement in their 100, so that's always fun.

Expect the unexpected. Be fluid and open to changes. Come relaxed and ready to enjoy a good time with good people. No one is looking down on someone that has never been offroad before. No one is rolling their eyes because a nervous driver is worried about the trail ahead. Trust us when we say that you'll be amongst friends. The absolute best compliments we get every year are from families that say they were nervous it was going to be a "guys event" or that their kids wouldn't enjoy it, but they absolutely loved it. Same goes for folks that come to the event solo and do not know anyone else personally. By the time they leave, they've made a few new friends and never felt solo.
