For what it's worth the guys at adventure trailer offered me a solution for hubs and adapters to run 5 x 150.

My trailer is currently set up for 6 x 5 1/2 but once these tires wear out I will likely swap hubs and buy adapter so that everything matches.

Thanks for the heads up on AT selling hubs. Will need to call them tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat as you. None of the Australian companies I contacted wanted to ship two hubs to the US. You'd think there would be enough of demand from 100/200/tundra guys to at least have someone one carry them here.

If you can get me the exact product and company I might be able to get someone to ship with them. I have friends in Adalaine that might be able to help. So I assume you are trying to convert an 89 Series bolt pattern to a 100?.

Nice Find! I don't have plans to utilize discs on the trailer, but either way great to see the option is there! I have never been around disc brakes on a trailer, i would assume you need a master cylinder, reservoir and power dedicated to the system to make it function correct? Beyond the power source, where would all that get placed?

Due to tire size, back spacing and the such, i ended up using a 5x4.5 hub with drum brakes, ordering a 4.5 to 150 spacer (1.25") and mounting up my wheel. My particular trailer will give me just under 2" of clearance between the frame/body and the inside of the tire.

Did someone have a good source for an adapter from an 80 Series to a 100 series wheel?

Why not just have a machine shop drill the correct bolt pattern in your trailer hubs? I have done this on drag race cars when installing different type rear axles in the old days. [i.e. I put an Oldsmobile axle in my drag car and it had 4 1/2" bolt pattern on other wheels, so I made them all match.] You can thread the holes and use grade 8 bolts for your wheel studs and loctite them in place. This should work fine for a trailer.
Just take your hubs to machine shop with pattern you want drilled.

I ended up going the custom two piece adapter route on an Adventure Trailers Chaser. I sourced the adapters from Motosports tech

To convert from the 6 lug wheel to the 5 lug 100 series, I also needed 3" of spacing to maintain the correct offset. I gave them those specs and this is what I received. They explained that this product comes with a lifetime warranty, made in the USA and that they etch a reference # on the product that corresponds with all the specs on file in case a reproduction is necessary.

The units were shipped facing each other, and there was a bit of contact between the lugs and the hub centric ring that caused some minor dents. In the surface. The damage does not interfere with the fit or function and the spacers fit and function as intended. I Did clean the hub and wheel surfaces up before assembly, and I checked the runout with a dial indicator.

I contacted them about the shipping damage to let them know what had occurred. They assured me that they would address the issues with the shipping/packaging process to prevent future incidents. They also offered to replace, or discount/credit for the damage. They were definitely willing to stand behind their product.

They also mentioned that they made the center diameter large to accommodate various hub sizes. In retrospect, they could remake that diameter smaller and machine a thicker hub centric ring, knowing that it would fit this smaller hub. A thin wall socked was required to install the spacers with the lug nuts that I had and I was able to use OE style lugs on the 100 series wheels. I assembled them to the specifications provided.

I took this setup to HIH7, and another trip out of state, and another trip including some moderately rough off road use without any issues.

Is your old 6 lug pattern 6 x 5.5 from the FJ80? Could you PM me the cost and reference # to see if they could make me a set?

Need to convert my trailer's 6 x5.5 pattern for the 80 to the 5 x 150 on the 100. Found a site that sells 5 x 5.5 to 5x 150for cheap but I would have to swap out hub.

Anybody interested in splitting set of 4 hub with me for $80/ pair+ shipping if I have to buy these?

@bmw635 Yes the old pattern is the 6x5.5 same as 80 series. PM sent.

Reviving an old thread. I bought a trailer yesterday that has the FJ wheels in a 6x5.5 lug pattern. Has anybody been successful in swapping hubs? Or I need to go the 2 piece spacers route? Appreciate some latest updates.

I didn't swap them but my old Australian trailer had 5x150 Dexter hubs and brakes. Many 5x150 trailer hubs available in Australia. However, you still might need a 1-piece spacer to accommodate the 100 series offset. So.... maybe switching to any 5 lug hub that is common in the US and going with a 1-piece spacer could be your best bet.

Thanks for the insight. After some consideration(mostly $$$), I am going to just stick with what I have for now. Maybe at a later date, I will swap hubs/add spacers/replace wheels.

If you want to share the 100 series spare tire between 100 and trailer, you can try and have one wheel adapter made… or split the pair with somebody.
