Got my cheap headunit in today! I can definitely understand the concern @Anarchy has regarding this just hanging from its bezel tabs - would definitely feel flimsy that way.

Once installed those android tablets are surprisingly secure. But A better way is always welcome.

Important decision ahead, so I have a question:

Vapor-honed finish and move toward production, or spend more time developing a color-matched coating to get it closer to the OEM plastics?

Would you rather have it sooner with the current finish, or wait longer (1+ month added) for a closer OEM match?

The faceplate will stay replaceable, so a more refined/color-matched version could always be offered later as a cosmetic upgrade without replacing the controller.

Your last thought seems good. Get it out the door and have options later....hell, I'd take it now even if it was Pink!

I'm in for any finish. She's a workin' girl, and is pretty from far, but far from pretty.

I'd wait for the OEM looking finish.
Replaceable faceplates are a great idea though.
I'm definitely thinking mine is going to end up with a RAM mount on the front of it...
