Just finished up this weekend. Adding a base plate for my drawers in the rear so i didn't cut holes but you get the idea. The color I ordered was Antelope. Made some bad cuts, but most is covered up beside the front passenger outer seat mount. The areas where the carpet needs to round off like in the second picture below the seat are the hardest areas to make look right and under the front seats. Just take your time on those areas.
Fairly satisfied with the install. The carpet itself is nice and seems as if it will hold up well. Still need to add velcro in the spots that are on the original carpet (footwells & rear cargo transition). These are the only pictures I have after it was finished. Hope it helps!

Yes that does look very nice. How many hours overall was the install?

I didn't really keep track, just worked on it when i had the time. Removing all the interior you could probably get done in half a day, it's fairly easy. Spent a couple hours deep cleaning the whole floor assembly and center console area. I also removed my whole headliner to check a sunroof leak so that really added on to my timeline. Then a couple hours here and there sound deadening the floor. Installing the new carpet is the most time consuming trying to cut it properly and make new holes for everything. You could definitely get it knocked out in a weekend without sound deadening.

Ordered the mass backed set for my 07 and going to have an installer do the job. I am probably going to pay a car audio installer to do the carpet install on the side. I would like to give him the most straight forward narrative of tips/tricks for this job to help him out. I have perused the forum and haven't come across a how to or something similar for the carpet install. Might anyone have any helpful info that I could pass along to my installer? thanks !

Just wanted to leave a review for the ebony mass backed from dnp. Paid an installer $300 and the fit was very overall very good. Adding additional padding in the area between the middle seats and center console would have helped. I didn't do it and the fit in that area is still ok since it will be covered with floormats.

I love the look in my grey interior 07, looks very modern. Communication from seller was very good, quality of product met expectations. Only improvement could be some very clear install instructions for the particular year with a check list of items to be removed and unplugged, holes to cut, etc.

I scanned several pages and know no more than when I started. Help me out...
- Prices?
- Options other than backing, pile/cut, with and without under-seat fans, etc. (with prices)
- How do we match colors, i.e., the factory colors available and noted as being the factory colors? Are swatches available?

Sorry. I'm sure all of ^that^ is in the thread. But after 18 (or 3) pages, a summary of key info in the first post would be great.

Good evening. I may have missed it, but I was wondering if anyone had done the medium mocha with a tan interior. It seems like it would be a great combo, and would just hoping to see some pics or get other options.

Send @Tupelo Honey a PM, and she'll get you fixed up!

Thanks!
David,

Are y'all still doing 100 series carpets? I sent @Tupelo Honey a message a few days ago and I have not heard back. Let me know if you can assist.

Thanks,

Dave

  • Picture 1: I laid Kilmat before I installed the carpet. Note that the tacky adhesive squishes out and will get on you and then transfer to the carpet! You’ll see a small spot right by the tailgate and beneath the second row hump. It doesn’t like to come off of anything so if you lay sound deadening, try to not get it on you as you work.
  • Picture 2: The advice about starting at the center console worked for me. Slowly cut a slit down the transmission tunnel until it felt right, then got precise with the cuts. There’s not a lot of room for error here. I had my wife do this part as she’s a high-end wallpaper installer and good at precision cutting.
  • I initially tried to cut out the mass backing exactly where it needed to be cut to accommodate the seat anchors, etc. Spent a lot of time on this. Then realized it created too much padding for the plastic surrounds to screw in. Ended up going back and cutting around them generously and everything laid down as it should. If I had cut with less precision on this the first time I could have saved a lot of time.
  • Picture 3: The carpet tends to fall where it runs up vertically along the transmission tunnel. You can see a fold on the passenger side. I may go back and try to do something with that.
  • Picture 4: The seat anchors in the third row demand that the carpet be cut around the screws, but note that the seat anchor screws for the second row seats want to be UNDER the carpet, so stay inside of the screws as you cut on the second row. This was my only regrettable mistake.
  • I also took the advice of others and used a solder iron to burn out holes where bolts needed to go through. I found that using a pick/smallest precision screw driver to poke around until I found the exact spot of the hole worked for locating where to burn without making visible holes in the carpet, then I could pull the pick out and stick the solder iron in.
  • Picture 5: I could never get the amp cover to stay down after the carpet was installed. I think the pressure from the mass backing is pushing it up. Going to buy some new plastic caps/screws to fix that.
