I would imagine the hand out the window is to feel for water at that height as they can not see. My question is would he cut the engine or gun it?

Wonder if he made it out? I see the way the passenger's holding the rope, it hooked on the snorkel and in the last pic the rope came off the snorkel and in the process flipped it around so the intake is unfortunately facing forward into the water.

That rope strategy is kinda dangerous, too. If it whipped around or looped the guy's hand he's going to lose the hand and maybe more. Far better to have people on the banks with throw ropes downstream.

Doug, the last pic with the hand on the rope is a different Cruiser than the other pics...

Still making a bow wave too there, so he's probably heading for dry land.
