There are no diesel engines in Venezuela, just gas...

The rope is because the rig is pre attached to the strap "safety reasons":whoops: , just in case, and the rope is to return the strap to other side of the river so next team will attach it as well...

As far as I know, they are really serious about racing, at least x-treme ones

I think the hand out the window is holding a rope, so that if the Cruiser gets wash away he can pull himself to shore. Maybe.
