I had Delta Cams to the grind for me. Billy had someone grind the lifters, but in hindsight, it would have been easier and less expensive to send them to Delta with the cam.
I had Billy source my pistons, but since then I've found an excellent source for Toyota 2F parts.....magengines.com...
Billy Hauser has been working on Toyota engines since Hauser Machine was T-Hoff up in Raleigh years ago (Billy bought the shop when the owner retired, then moved to a better location in Garner). T-Hoff was widely known as the place to go for Toyota engine work and you'll be hard pressed to find...
Get a universal telescoping shaft from Borgeson.....just need to get a Double-D to round shaft universal for the steering column end and Double-D to 80 series spline for the box end. Cut to length and works like a champ. That's what I put together for my 80 series P/S conversion...
I don't have one, but a buddy up in Virgina bought one of these.....I wouldn't use it in a commercial shop, but for a home garage.....$130 ain't bad at all.

Question.....if one has recently installed a complete new suspension kit, including Bilstein 5100 shocks....... would those be suitable for the parabolic springs. They certainly felt like they had rather stiff damping.
Of course these come out 4 months after I put all new ProComp springs with the kit from RedLine on my 40. :bang:
@Jonathan Hanson, in your review, would you be able to include ride and performance with no hard top? I run a bikini top 90% of the year and even the "soft" ProComp springs are too...
Yep, that would be the problem.....I don't have that mounting backet attached to the bib. If I can't find an easy alternative mounting method, I'll just fab up that bracket and buy a latch.
Thank you much for the pictures, they are very helpful!
I'm trying to figure out how to mount the intake horn from a '76 on the 2F I have in my '71.....can anyone post a picture of the bracket and how it mounts to the front bib (see picture below for reference)?
I can't find any pictures looking at that area from behind. I just need to know what...
I'd be on board for helping, if for no other reason than to meet some of the local members and get some info on the club. I'm in Fuquay and have a good background in fabrication and building vehicles. If it's not too cold, I'll even bring my FJ40 to show y'all (I'm working on the hard top...
Bumping this thread for anyone who might need some information....
I installed one of these units over the weekend (easy 5 minute job while I was waiting for my transmission oil to finish draining). My speedo is now spot on...
You can get them at SpeedometerCablesUSA.com (LINK). You'll need to...
Freshly rebuilt H42 in my '71 resto-mod.....since this is my first experience with a 40, I'm curious about the shifting.
When upshifting, there are 2 distinct clicks to get it into gear, and with the second click, it feels like a couple of gear teeth rubbing against each other. Not really a...
Agreed.....the Sniper system is awesome, and I will 100% be installing one on my 40 in the (budget permitting) near future. I was just curious about the Sniper 2 improvements, if the 2300 would be getting an update soon.
I've reached out to Holley customer service as well but have not yet...
The Sniper 2 fixes RF interference from older ignition systems, cleans up the wiring, and a few other updates, but that's only the 4 barrel version. I haven't seen anything about a Sniper 2 for the other variations.
Sniper 2GC just refers to the EFI version of the Rochester 2GC carb. The 2300...
