Some have made homemade extensions out of square tubing. Mark's off-road sold some at one time. Btb has some for sale. Maybe FJ80 bump stops, they are quite a bit taller.

I think solid bar aluminum would be interesting. Use the stock bump stops and longer bolts.

Here they are $20.00 shipped.

Putting on a 1.5 inch lift on the 40. Anyone make an extended set of bump stops?
Mark?? @65swb45
Not any more Todd. They have always been a slow-selling item, and I just can't deal with a 10yr ROI at this point in my life. It's too bad, bc I could use a few pairs myself. Fortunately I have some leftover end plates, so I will just build what I need.

Ok, got the extended mounts from @pardion (thank you!). I still need a little more length😁

My understanding is 80 series bump stops are longer—- does anyone know if they have the same distance between mounting holes as a 40 series? If so, before I start a new “wanted” post, does anyone have a pair of 80 stops they’d like to sell???

This may be a question that's been answered before, but what's the distance from the axle to the bump stop on a STOCK FJ40?

Mine had some aftermarket springs on it when I bought it and have since been replaced with a 2.5" lift from Redline LC.

I'm good with building my own extensions, but I have no idea what dimensions to use for locating them from the axles.

I believe your question has been covered in the 40 tech section. In a nutshell, you want the stop to hit the axle 1” before the tire hits the wheelwell, or the shock bottoms out, whichever comes first.

I've searched and found lots of "bump stop" threads / comments, but not specifically the information I've been looking for.

I know you aren't making your bump stop extensions any longer, but is there any chance you could either post some dimensions (or IM them to me), so folks who want to make their own aren't reinventing the wheel?
