    Pulling Short Block from Bay

Pull the whole assembly! It's so much easier. I did this by myself. Remove everything in front of the engine. Radiator, AC radiator, hood crossmember. Take the front tires off and lower the truck as much as you can. It may seem scary (and it is) but take your time and it comes right out.

    1fz Stuck flex plate bolts

Hi all, so I've tried impact wrench, propane torch, extractor sockets, multiple breaker bars etc.. I have been able to get 5 of the ten bolts out but the rest are impossible to move. I know trying an EZ-OUT is just going to snap off. The engine is out of the truck and I'm out of answers. Have...

How to keep Mice out of your 80 series cabin

Ok, I'm gonna chime in. Believe it or not I use BOUNCE dryer sheets. The original kind (no scented) I tie them to hose, wiring harness etc. Keeps them out of the engine compartment. I've had rat problems for years and this is the only thing that has been effective! Replace once a month. Im kid...

    Head gasket question.

So I started replacing the head gasket just as the pandemic started. As would have it, working from home, taking care of family etc. etc. my LC fell to the bottom of my 'to do' list. Im determined to finish the job in the next couple of months (fingers crossed). At this point the head is off and...

    Rear drive shaft removal

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! Mark, (SCRATCH OR PAIINT) both flanges where they meet the rear diff and the transfer case. Also mark the front yoke that slips into the driveshaft. If you don't do this and you just put the pieces back together they will be out of balance!!! Super important!!

Best harmonic balancer puller holder design

Pretty neat!! I was gonna fab up something similar and then I remembered I had this. Wrapped the chain around the pulley, locked the handle and rested on the fan snout. Put the breaker bar and 30mm socket on and it came off without too much effort. Now I just have to find a torque wrench that...

    Gas tank removal/replacement

Hi all, I have to pull my tank (leaking) I've unbolted the straps, skid plate, disconnected hoses and fuel pump. Still can't get the tank to come down. Are there any tricks or something I'm missing? Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

    Head Gasket price estimate ?

I'm doing mine right now and with all the work involved I'm surprised by some of the prices I've seen on this post. If I owned the shop I wouldn't charge less than $3000+ I wonder if the reason you see so many blown 80 series head gaskets is that if it were done previously the rear head bolts...
