I run Fox 2.5 DSC front and rear tuned by Accutune. 10/10 recommend. Accutune has a blog on their site that compares Fox to King. Shows which materials each company uses for each part of the shock.
2" lift but i dont think the lift matters. Yes it rubs pan hard but i havent had any issues with it. About 20k+ miles on it now and a couple off-road trips.
I have ST Maxx 255/80r17 on a 17x8 et -10 wheel. Move the front fender liner forward and move the caster forward. no BMC and you will only get slight rub on the body mount while at extreme angles with the wheel turned. Spare fits in the rear with the towing package, you just have to let the air...
The material used in each may be different. I think the thickness of the tubing may be different too. MT uses johnny joints which may require more maintenance. Dobinson uses polyurethane and oe rubber bushings so those will be better for noise and if youre in areas with salt on the road. Never...
@HomersCanyonero 2" is the minimum amount of height offered in a spring long enough for long travel as far as i could find. Also, being racked, although i dont care for the look, makes more since as the GX has a bias of up-travel vs down-travel front to rear in the suspension geometry...
Correct. Stock weight, factory bumper, factory roof rack. I got right at 2" of lift (23" center of hub to fender) using a DIY spring conversion (same as metal tech, offers no additional lift).
Bumped because i looked. only input i can give is that i have those rear dual rate dobinson springs and they ride really well.
@Kyle Fogle is your man for anything dobinson.
I love em. Being light weight is what sold me on them. No worries. Havent seen any one break them yet.. and their priced right so if one was to break, it wouldnt be expensive to replace.
