    Slave cylinder adjustment clarification

The push rod seats itself to the release fork. Maybe the release fork and throw out bearing need to be looked at?

    Slave cylinder adjustment clarification

Hi. I have a May 1984 FJ60. I just installed a new master and slave for the clutch a couple of weeks ago. I set up the nuts on the slave push rod the same as the old one (almost to the end). However, I was getting the same noise you described when the clutch was in neutral. The end cone...

1984 FJ60 Sudden rough idle problem...

Do you have a filter sock on your fuel tank pick up tube? You may have some rusty dregs in your fuel tank. The spark plugs do look a little too black.

What the hell is goin on in Jimmy's Barn

I decided to order another seal and stake nut just to be safe. BTW, is it a good idea to use permatex gear oil grade gasket maker on both sides of the stake nut washer?

What the hell is goin on in Jimmy's Barn

Dang, I just installed the t-case rear oil seal and I put it in backwards! The FSM just depicts the seal as having a flat surface on both sides. I thought the more delicate part went inward so you wouldn't damage them when tapping it in. I don't there is anyway to extract it without...

Builds Project surf 60 series 1984

I picked up a new 2ndary diaphragm from CityRacerLLC . I also bought the pump plunger and pump boot from them because the two carb kits I bought elsewhere contained inferior versions of those parts.

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

I did the same thing but didn't weld it (). Instead I wrapped the entire seam with a piece from a sheet of viton rubber, then the clamp goes over that. It may start vibrating apart though. I may have to bungie cord it. I guess I could do the same thing but just weld it in 3 or 4 spots.

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

We have owned this 84 landcruiser since 1996. It hasn't been driven on the road with active registration since 2010. I have spent the last three years fixing it up. Got a license plate on Friday. Saturday morning drove 2 miles to the gas station to get some 100% gas/no ethanol. Fired up...

Hi Kurt, I can't seem to find a stock height kits for 6x on your cruiserteq.com website. Do you have a specific link or do we need to call or email you to work up an order?

    Stumped

If fuel was leaking before you replaced the regulator and dampener, it may have gone into some vacuum lines. Does the regulator vacuum line go to the throttle body? If so you have some old fuel in the throttle body with messed up gaskets. It is possible a fuel injector is leaking.

Learning to mechanic: An FJ60 journey

That wire is most likely the ground for the carb fan which will run after you turn the engine off to deal with heat soak. My ground did not have that green connector.

Builds Just bought my first 60 Series...my 1986 FJ60 Build

Man you got a lot of work done fast. You definitely have some experience from working on those pickups. I was wondering what type of new leaf springs you went with?

The square green plug up top could be for the fuel cut solenoid valve. There should be a ground cable for the carb fan. I don't know about the bottom green round plug. It might be for an emissions related VSV?

FJ62 Starts after letting fuel pressurize

Did you check to see if the fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel from the vacuum port. I had that happen on another vehicle and it was only 1 drop every 10 seconds. I had to tap the vacuum line to get fuel to come out.
