I'm currently working on putting together a list of things I need to bring. It's been awhile since I've gotten out camping 😆

inner tie rod replacement - aftermarket upgrade or OEM (2006 GX)

I've got the 555 installed on my driver side with fresh OEM outers on both sides, and now the steering wheel is off center and they're telling me that there isn't any more adjustment on the driver side outer. There is about 1-1.5" of adjustment to be had on the passenger. It was suggested that...

FAQ Axle - Gears - Lockers GX470 Upgrade Thread

Reading through the thread, I'm left with two paths as it relates to my KDSS equipped GX 470. 5th gen 4runner KDSS e-locker rear axle unicorn swap, or a GX 460 rear axle and front diff swap. If I go with the former, are there any components that I need to swap over from my GX 470 or is it truly...

    LX470 HID RETROFIT PROJECTOR BRACKET

How easy was this to do? I’ve got everything sitting in a box to do the retrofit but I didn’t want to have to cut the cut and rewire the connector cable which is what the tutorial seemed to imply. Any pics of how you went about avoiding that? I want to maintain the OEM harness connector setup in...

    gx470 leaning to the left

I had a similar 1.5” left lean and after installing new front coilovers my lean has been mitigated in the front with the year still leaning by 1”, likely due to my airbags. Once I swap those out I imagine it should disappear.

    LX470 vs. GX470

Except it lacks the aftermarket rock sliders, wheels/tires, body on frame, suspension flex, and towing that both of our other cruisers have, not to mention the luxury feel. I like nice things, but we like to use them for their intended purposes as well. Our family of 5’s (soon to be six!)...

    LX470 vs. GX470

AGREED To chime in on this discussion, I own an '05 GX and '07 LX, both with the vvti, and the GX with KDSS and hill DAC. My wife has always hated large vehicles and the Prado is the perfect blend of three-row space with a small footprint. While they both have the same engine and drivetrain...

LX470 '06 headlight upgrade! Glass/polycarb and LED or HID

Just got both in. They’re still offering each complete housing for $383 a piece. While I’m not conclusively certain they are glass, it definitely feels like the new lenses are denser compared to the polycarbonates on my ‘06. Do you know of the ‘98-‘02 housings are a direct plug-n-play for the...

Poll on total brake failure in 100 series

It occurred on my LX with 230k after the ABS Module inside the cabin was replaced. The brake pedal seemed to be pulsating and then the alarm came on. It's been down almost a year between diagnosing and fixing the ABS module and then waiting for a new Brake Assembly to arrive from Japan due to...

LX470 '06 headlight upgrade! Glass/polycarb and LED or HID

Does anyone know the part number for the glass assemblies from the dealer for the early model 470's?

LX 470 Glass headlights worth it?

Do you remember the part number so I can provide them to the dealer for ordering?

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

This is why the LX fails. Against the Escalade, Grand Wagoneer, Denali, etc. it can’t compete with any them. Being based off a platform intended for offroading, it’s dimensions are constrained to make it manageable on trail whereas all of the others are gargantuan in order to maximize passenger...
