My wife and I have a 2004 GX470. My family also has a 2004 LX470.

I don't understand how you guys can be so butthurt about the barn door..

We offroad ours. She is amazing. Comfortable on long road trips as well.

We also have a dog that we bring. 75lb belgian malinois.

For a bigger family on a longer road trip, the LX. But for a family of two with a dog and we pack a lot of gear, the GX is perfect.

Just bought a 2004 GX470 with a clean history and 84K miles; colour me happy. Good thread, keep it going as long as the trucks do. Would prefer the 60/40 doors of the 70 Series to the big Landy door that should have reversible hinges like a fridge...can't have it all I guess!

Experiences with swing away rear hatch on 120?

My wife needs a new car and after searching, I think I fell in love with the new Lexus GX460. The only issue my wife has is with the useability and safety of the swingout rear door. I was looking for comments, issues and general experiences from anyone with a Prado, GX470 or Toyota product...

The new LX/LC ditched the wonderful split gate for the entire door lift thingy option. That’s the worst mistake the Japs have made since plastic headlights.
