My tick comes from cracked exhaust manifold I think (not the plugs). If you are in there I would likely change the plugs, inspect the coils. Plugs - dry install (no copper etc) - 17 ft.lbs - worked a treat for me. Good luck.
Can confirm my car has a new radiator & the clutch fan is good. I have witnessed thermostat opening at correct temp (184F) but my car typically runs 190F….. (ref data file). Temp is solid - does not vary ever - so I live with it.
Hi - this may be a bit 'empirical' for your taste - but I have a similar car (age/mileage/duty/Colorado) - I traced my gas tank pressure problem back to the charcoal canister (based on research of this forum & other people's experience) - so I purchased a used one off eBay for $100 - changeout...
Went with someone else’s ‘actual’ experience as opposed to ‘fooling myself’ - I hear what you are saying but where’s the ‘proof’ - often genuine items are available for less on global market than in USA (eg partsouq) - due to the coil’s stellar reviews thought it was worth the chance - so far so...
yep - thx Yves - the thru fitting with ability to tighten up against the airbox from either side - I'm going to the hardware store and will rummage for something suitable - will update the post when I find the right thing. Quite keen on plastic & epoxy as joint is not under stress (my tape...
I think this will be my first attempt - I'm gonna get some irrigation nipples (different sizes) and see what is most suitable - will also look to see if there is a suitable bulkhead fitting - as ever, for aging vehicles & motorcycles - JB weld is king :D
Hi
The nipple in the photo has broken off my airbox assembly - currently I have the hose taped on (not satisfactory) - Has anyone repaired this / similar and if so how did you do it?
The shop's suggestion was $1000 for a new air box.....
Thx
Jim
sorry to hear about ur situation - super frustrating I can imagine - For reference I have 2000 LC 4.7 petrol (USA spec) - I dont know specifics of ECU connectivity - I just did what someone else recommended...
