Agreed. I think that Toyota thinks Lexus owners don’t tow?!?!? It’s very strange but I did call CarMax where I bought it and I think they are going to help me. So fingers crossed.
Hey all,
I just bought a 15 LX570. I need to tow my crawler around but I have been having issues with my trailer lights and brake controller not working correctly.
When I bought the truck it did not come with a 4 or 7 pin connector in the back. I was kinda shocked when I paid $45k for a Mac...
yes and yes in my opinion. Cooler temps mean a happier trans, towing or not. As for trailer brakes I again would say yes. I towed my crawler home with the wife’s GX without a brake controller and I definitely felt the trailer pushing on the truck as I was stopping or slowing down. If I were you...
I use a scan gauge 2 to monitor temps. My wife’s GX towed my crawler pretty good but now that I got an LX570 her GX will not be towing anymore. I did put a Hayden trans cooler on and it worked great! 20-30 degrees cooler on average. I will be doing the same on my LX next oil change.
Does anyone run a transmission cooler on their truck? My GX runs around 190-200 degrees on a normal daily drive. I’m worried that when I tow long distances that my trans will hate me. I’m looking into the Hayden 679 cooler but I wanted to see what others are running. Thanks.
