Bama to Baja Overland Journey ‘22

On May 25 we set out from Chelsea, Alabama in the rain. The third day in a row of thunderstorms and the last rain we would see for thirty days. With 2,000 miles ahead of us to get to the Mexico border, we planned some big mileage days on the interstate. The goal for day one was Shreveport...

Bama to Baja Overland Journey ‘22

At the end of May this year, just a couple days after my son’s high school graduation, we set out for our second trip to Baja. But this time, we went all in! Thirty days, three people, two dogs, one Land Cruiser and 7,000 miles round trip ahead of us. This thread will document that journey. I...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Working on the rear part of the dual battery setup for Trinity. BlueSea fuse block installed and wired for accessories (so far just two BlueSea dual USB plugs and the fridge plug). Positive and negative 2 ga wires run from back to front (not yet wired up to battery).

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Yes, a Thanks! Yeah, a buffer and the 3M professional three-step paint correction system. A couple tiny places will need some paint touch up with a toothpick or whatever. It won’t end up perfect but it will be a lot better than when the flares first came off. I did this to my 2000 LC also. It...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Just do the 285s. If you’re ever in a bad situation and need a spare quickly, you’ll appreciate the availability of the 285 size.

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

The before and after, so far. Since these pics I removed the fender flares. I’m working intermittently on compounding out the rub marks left behind. "Bama 2 Baja" is 27 days away.

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Give it a few weeks. It will settle. You’ll look back at pictures and kind of forget what it looked like right after install. I’ve done two 100’s; one with 864s and one with 863s. Both settled in nicely after two to three weeks.

VSC overly sensitive, activating during mild turns in normal driving: problem finally solved

I had the same issue in 2018 with my 2000 LC. I had wheel speed sensor issues causing the exact same thing. Pretty terrifying when it would happen. You can’t imagine what words would come out of my wife’s mouth when would happen!

WTF? AC (Which blows extremely cold when its functioning) sometimes will not come on or is delayed.

I had that issue with my 2000. Replaced the blower with OEM back in 2018. I figured after that many years, it was time.

Anything below 22 PSI (I believe) will prevent the compressor from engaging to prevent damage. As others have suggested, check pressure. Hopefully something simple like that. Good luck and let us know what you find.

    Welcome “Trinity” to the family!

Welcome “Trinity” to the family, our 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser. This is our second 100. We lost our first, “Tilley,” to a rollover from a t-bone accident from a tractor trailer in 2020. Follow along as we get “Trinity” ready for our upcoming Bama to Baja adventure, the return. 100 days until...
