High desert dreaming in the swamps.
Hello guys,

Sorry to post in 80s section, but there are 80s involved.

Pappy, 2manycruisers and Beowolf from here on Mud are driving to Baja in their two 80 series and an 85 4Runner 22re.

They are stranded in Flagstaff no with a broken timing chain on the 22re (Pappy). He needs both the chain and the labour to install it (or a facility in which to do it).

If you can help in any way, know anyone or any workshop in the area please contact David (2manycruisers) at 1-505-231-6202 ASAP.

Currently they are on the side of the road on I-40 at Exit 225.

Thanks guys!

Josh

Have they checked Flagstaff area for the timing chain? Is that a dealer only part? Couple mudders in Flagstaff, im in west Phoenix if i can help, 2 1/2 hours south.

They are searching for a chain now but no luck yet. They don't care where the chain is from or whether it is factory or not.

Anyone in the area would certainly be a welcome sight to these blokes.

Josh

if they cant find one, Autozone here has a timing chain for $16.

Passed on. Thanks!

PM forum member MoGas.

He's a Flagstaff resident, mechanic and knows Toyota's well. Tell him Ryan, the guy who bought his 86 Turbo Truck sent you.

I have the truck in my shop right now. I had to take care of a few things and they are getting some parts and food. Hopefully it will be done tonight.

Mogas is Da Man

Hey guys,

Just an update: Dave (Mogas) has them in hand and is taking care of them. Thanks to everyone for their help with this - 2manycruisers, Pappy and Beowolf are all very grateful to the Mud group - and especially mogas.

Cheers,

Josh

Looks like we posted at exactly the same time. Thanks Dave, those guys are very, very relieved. It's guys like you who make Mud such a great resource.

Small world. Glad Dave was able to help them out.

Thanks to everybody that came to the rescue. The truck is in goods hands with Mogas.
