I was visiting some local junk yards looking for some seats for my 60 series,i found a few things that some you will like. i found a complete set of manual locking hubs out of an 86 truck complete with driveshafts and differential also a pair of bucket seats in decent shape i noticed it had a manual steering box and intake and carburetor for a 22r hhmm.i was able to find a pair of 4runner sets in really good shape and it's a steal.here are some pics.

hubs

I'm getting the hubs for my 4runner but i might decide on ripping off the whole front drivetrain,if any of you guys are interested in the seats and steering box let me know i will be back there around Wednesday the interior stuff on this truck is completely gone.:)

Sweet find, now turn it into a write-up. I still wish I'd documented my setup being put together so it can go into the FAQ files and help newbies out. Also, like I said, just get the whole front end, those Non-ADD complete's are harder and harder to find now that most have gone either the way of the crusher (Cash-4-Clunkers), or been completely scrapped in favor of SAS's. Worst case if you decide to not use it there will be plenty looking to do like I did soon enough.

As for me, I picked this up last week. I'll wait to give it to whoever picks the rig up when I am ready to say goodbye to it.

**ADVISORY**
This is now going to be a contest amongst friends between John and I, you guys are welcome to join in too!
~The cheesy cell phone pics are b/c I was on lunch mid-route and did not have the good camera in my corp-ride. The cheesy picture titles are all me too.

If the blue SR5 seats were brown I would be all over them.

Hmmm, lemme see here. You mean like the ones on the left most part of this pic?

"Have a seat?"

How about these?

"I don't need to know how to ADD!" *3 (YES at least 3!) Non-ADD complete assemblies sitting right there. :D

:p Guess who's getting rid of their worn out 2nd-Gen Runner rear window switch in favor of an '00 window switch instead? His price included the ECT switch.
I'll likely turn it into another on/off switch of some sort.

John, any further doubts or concerns whether or not I am indeed a "Pimp" please defer to the above. :flipoff2::beer:

~When are you coming down to dig through this find and BBQ here?

*Mods, apologies if this is borderline chat but please consider keeping this topic in here as the tech we can share relates directly to the Mini part of the forum. (We all know what'll happen if it goes into Chat. )

BBQ not a problem finding time to look for treasures like that makes me want to take a few days off.it's like walking in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.LOL

If i get to take off early before Saturday i will grab those switches and cruise control that i spotted and i will find out how much for the entire front drivetrain on that truck.i really wanted to save some of the parts off the 86 pick up but i have limited funds i know somewhere along the road someone could use it.

i know for a fact that most of this salvage yard owners could care less what is in this cars but for most of us that love our rigs it's like finding a gold nugget when we see it out there getting soak in the rain and hot sun during summer.i will make it an effort during some of this salvage yard trips to find things that some of us could use or point them to the right direction to save what can be save before the final melt down.

Just to keep this on the tech side from what year did manual locking hubs go as far as what fits what or any changes on certain models.did the trucks and 4runner had similar gear ratios?i noticed that driving my 4runner around 70 mph it only spins the engine around 2800 rpm and on my hi-lux it's 3k rpm.let me know if this is just some error on the gauge.:bang:

Viper where are you located and what color were those seats. Grey from a 85-88 and I'm interested depending on how far away.

As far as the hubs, solid axle hubs thru 85, ifs 86-95, not sure what the Taco hubs looked like.

Ratios should be similar but depending on your drive-trains then the two rigs could be slightly different. They used several ratios across the years. 4.10, 4.30, 4.56 & 4.88 were all available at different times with differnt motor/ trans combos across the years.

Your HiLux is likely 4.30's and the Runner if on 31's is likely 4.56's like I swapped to. There is an actual color code on the differential flange that tells the code easily. IIRC 4.56's have yellow :princess: paint on them (see below). I may have painted mine over after the So-Cal guys got a hold of some spray paint and had fun in the middle of the night.

4.10 gearing=Pink paint.

Great info guys,i really like the color coded thing with the diffs. it makes it easy identifying this things when they are out there.now with info like this it makes searching easy for a particular drive train.

i need a front pinion flange nut

~Sorry these are all still cell phone pics, wife still has my camera's photo card from her trip. Let me know if you need something specific and I'll hunt it/them down and try for better pics. *NOTE: "Promised to not reveal location(s) until WarDamnEagle has first shot @ them since he replied first."*

2nd-Gen 4Runner SR5's w/ spare lower, needs to have lower vinyl and fabric panels swapped so they'll be correctly done.

Pair of re-upholstered '88 Buckets. Side cover's could stand for some vinyl dye that would better match things up.

**This is just the tip of the iceberg people. There's another Toyota specific shop/yard less than 5 minutes from work that also has seats, etc. **

Hater. I can do whatever I want with my break time. Face it, being an industry rep does have it's privileges.

*Technically it is a "paper route", wanna key in my paperwork next week while I sit there and polish Snap-on tools and work on domestics all day? ;p
