who was it that did something like this before? it was on a 60 i think they ended up looking cool as hell.

na, traded springs with a buddy, he had stock springs and he got my safari springs. Its going to be tall enough with the SR and stock springs. I really wanna run 39.5s if I can... going to have to get creative with the cutoff wheel though.

I'm also moving the rear axle back about 3inches and moving the front axle foward about 2. That should give me better "swing" and room for bigger meats with the shackle reversal. Going to be very long wheel base but it'll be a good climber and the half doors are going to be put to the test around the trees. :)

How are you gonna do the latch?

kewl. I have pondered, but never dared. Post pics when done.

I'm going to rework the linkage on the inside latches on the front doors so they'll mount on the flat part (where the void is now) to open the doors. Hopefully I'll have enough room in front of those to make some cup holders for nice cold sodas. :) The rears will only use the outside latches (unless I feel especially creatvie).

custom springs . ? or move spring hangers . ?

It leave your central angle wide ..

In the rear is there a linkage that runs horizontally across the door? I ask because the lock button/tab/thing you pull up on to unlock is by the b pillar. I looks like you are planning to cut straight across below the level of the handle.

yes, there is linkage that runs across but I plan on just welding the tab on the locking mechanism to the "unlock postion" and getting rid of that entirely... shoudnt be a big deal.

On another note... The front part of SOA is done. Its frickin huge! TOO HUGE! I probably could run 44s under there as it sits right now. I think I'm going to have a section cut out of the shackle reversal hanger to get the belly back down to a respectable height. Maybe run a sleeve through the frame (kinda like what the mini guys do when doing sas conversion) so I can raise where the rear shackle attatches?

Tapage.... no custom springs just flipping the direction of the stock springs. Man I cant believe you are running lifted springs with that shackle reversal! Your cruiser must be very very tall? What is your belly height?
