Use a bracket off the windshield hinge

I'm told the thing I have on mine was made by Kaymar.

It attaches to the hinge.

This is good Tech. :)

Thanks for the pics, I'll add it to the growing list of things that I need to accomplish...

Good pictures smart set-up

Here's my setup.

Custom bracket fabbed for windshied hinge.

The two pins on the sliders are a set of spring pins (big round head on a threaded shaft, and are threaded right inot the sliders. It works great, they fit right into the holes in the bottom of the jack - no trouble.

Hole drilled in pin allows a small lock - keeps the honest people from stealing the jack, a serious thief would requrie about 1 minute to bust my Master Lock padlock

I used a leftover stock shackle to make mine....off the two screws on the side of the w/s hinge. It's got that extra 'recycling' thing going.;)

Can you post up some pictures? I'm having trouble visualizing the set up. I recall reading about using an old shackle to fabricate a mount and couldn't get the visual at that time either.

Made up another one for the new FJ.

Since it's got the old-school two-piece running boards, I decided to go for the full bolt-on, no-holes drilled approach.

Baseplate with two pins:

w/s hinge mounted shackle plate [I plan to put a couple of shackle bushings in between the plate and the jack, just didn't get there yet!]:
