I Agree
I do 99% of all my own work but I did let Camelback Toyota replace my fuel filter and PHH assembly...money well spent IMO

I did this myself and can tell you it was not worth my time. I was all twisted up in the DS wheel well for way too long. I will be taking it to CBT the next time it needs to be done, somewhere around 2030.

Murf, too early for an appointment?

After 350K miles I finally blew my head gasket.

At this point, Is it worth replacing? I'm figuring if im taking it out, a full head rebuild. If im rebuilding the head... bottom end is the next to go.
by then, i'm in it pretty deep.
Even if I just do the head gasket, or have the dealer do it, its still about ready for a rebuild.

So, I'm looking to go this route.

agreed, 350k is a lot of miles to just slap a HG on it. It is an interesting kit and looks pretty good as an alternative. I know the 5.9's can be had reasonably
Questions would be : what about emissions? how hard to pass with this conversion / does DMV care? are you out of Maricopa county so it doesn't matter?
What about cruise control, OBDII, speedo, tach? All work accurately after conversion?

interested in seeing where this goes...please post up more info as you go.

Completely off-topic, but i kinda want to make my focus street legal. The only thing is it doesnt have a stock ecu or a cat, is it possible to do this?

installing this tonight -

Any feedback on the install? What did you do with amp under the passenger's seat? I've seen factory amp delete plugs on eBay. The standard two plug setup Toyota started using in 87 and used today on some models is easy to find. Not sure I've seen one for a 2000 LC. I think things changed with the plug setup on the amp with the sub woofer. If you have any questions on the factory wiring I have the factory manual for wiring.

Bump

Inquiring minds want to know.

after having had a Ford Focus as a rental car several times over the past 3-4 years, I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to drive such a POS on the road, and as a daily driver no less

as far as cruiser wrenching: we did some wiring stuff on the 80 in Baton Rouge

Pulled some fishing tackle out of the undercarriage....

This is result--leveled. Still hangs down a good ways.

I'm driving a 2014 Focus SE with the appearance package as a rental right now and its a great little car. I'll be sad to give it back.

wrong example - he had been married in the US to his American-born first wife for years before he went, and he took her with him - so your interpretation is totally off

The only reason I brought up the other thread was to show after marrying someone from the Philippines it would be possible to take your cruiser along. Marriage would be doomed if a person had to sell their cruiser for it.:meh:

I fellow forum member is sending me an OEM HU, so i took it back to the store to save some $$$

That makes sense. Only part of the audio system I didn't care for in my 100 series was the door speakers. Unless your plan installing a new five channel amplifier bypassing the stock amplifier and just using the one in the radio would probably be a down grade. So what was wrong with the old head unit? CD changer? The latest one I just bought off eBay I'm sending back. When I hooked it up I noticed it showed a CD already installed. Pushed eject and nothing.:bang:
