I read different opinions on whether or not the drain hole in the air filter housing should be sealed - when having a snorkel fitted for the occasional deep river crossing.
There is a bit of moisture entering the snorkel head which of course needs to get out, and therefore a 100% sealing of the hole doesn't seem ideal - But on the other hand, if there is no working valve mechanism in the drain hole, probably there is a huge risk of drowning the car...
