This one is fresh off the container. The second Saudi cruiser I’ve imported.

1992, first of the 1FZ trucks.

Real.

We unloaded it on the trailer 50 klicks from my house and I got it from the owner. Did a nice burnout and hit the parkway.

I pulled over after about a mile to check the tires and lugnuts as it felt like the truck was shaking apart.

Nope. Just the s***ty suspension and Dunlops on split rims

Once they warmed up I made it home. Wanted to get a RPM/speed baseline before I swapped tires.

Nice tag huh?

Next I put it up in the air and made a quick inspection. It’s perfect. Never seen a vehicle this clean that had not been purposefully cleaned and painted.

The suspension of choice around here for everything is Dobinsons. The only question per vehicle is IMS or MRR. Knowing the “jack of all trades” IMS would be tuned for the 1 ton payload I opted for the MRR

I forgot to measure the stock height before the tires came off so I go the height to bump for later comparison

Look at these things

As for rust free. I’ve never seen a ubolt perch so clean.

I’m an old man at 55 but I got to the gym everyday for weight resistance training.

Thank God for that. These rears weigh in at an even 100# each

I finished up the 1/2 day successfully removing the bottom two overload springs out of the Dobinsons pack and stuffing back into the 75. I use a jack cart to help lift the fixed end into the frame. Once that is in, they are easy enough to install.

One other positive of Dobinsons. The shoulders on the rubber bushings are always sized right and they slide right into the fixed end where other brands often require you to grind a bit off to slip in. That’s a big deal when installing a 60# spring (new rear weight with overloads removed

I woke up stiff yesterday but got back on the 75 mid morning.

Front springs went in much easier as they weigh about 1/2 that of the rears.

Dobinsons usually gives you a photo or directions on where to mount the remotes but there was none for the LC75 so I picked a spot the operator could easily access and hopefully the tire would not
Hit at full stuff.

Here is another place to see how clean and well maintained the truck is.

Notice the low VIN too.
IMG_5311.jpeg

Also, these Saudi trucks (at least the ones I am seeing with my buyer) use OEM parts as seen with the sticker left on the lower radiator hose

About lunchtime I had the front buttoned up and then realized the swaybar links were too short. I ran to town, grabbed a spicy chicken sammich and hit Auto Zone for the go-to Energy Suspension links they sell at all auto zone. Not sure their intended market but these go on all of my 60 series builds as well.

Rears went in easily. I forgot to buy the res mounts for the rear so for now I padded the shock tube and used some monster zip ties.

Here is the after on height to the rear bump
IMG_5315.jpeg

I slapped some 1” spacers all around and mounted up the 285/75-17 Yokohamas on FJCruisier Steelies. These wheels fit with no spacer on an 80 but you need them on a 60 or 70.

I had to remove the front mudflaps after the test run due to rubbing.

Man, what a transition this was. On and off road. HUGE improvement in ride.

I pulled it into low range and flexed it out and made sure my remotes were safe.

The rear runs a bit on the inner frame. I think 1.5” spacers would fix that. Also driver rear is hitting the exhaust when flexed fully rearward.

Fixed some small things here and there. Bled brakes. Added new Sun visors I got from City Racer, added a cup holder and about that time the owner pulled up and left his Saudi 80 and took the 75.

He is planning on taking it on a trip Nov 4th and we have a few more goodies to add to this one. Stay tuned.

Will definitely be watching this one! Just that we never got these has made them a unicorn for me.
