This oil truck nearly wound up in the pond at one of my snow accounts. We plowed and widened the drive which is a nasty hill and a curve.

The evergreen on the right is a visual handicap because it makes someone want to drive around it.

Add that the driver had never been to the house before made things worse.

So he slid off the driveway in exactly the spot I always worry about.

So Big Mike came out for the rescue.

Mike was afraid he would flip the truck into the pond if he pulled it straight out. So he tried to pull him sideways.

With 1900 gallons of oil in the truck he was pulling the tow truck down the hill so they off loaded the oil into another truck that was in the area and luckily empty.

And all ended well.

Good pics. Big Mike sounds like he knows what he's doing.

Helps to have multiple winches or multiple trucks with winches.

How big was the tree he had the snatch block hooked to? Must have been pretty stout!

Oil truck has a locker on the rear wheels. If I owned a medium sized oil company I would have at least one four wheel drive truck in the fleet even if it was smaller.

This idiot should have had four wheel drive. Yesterday in another customers driveway/road during almost blizzard conditions. [

that sucks thought this was going to be an fj40 pulling it out !!!!!!!!!!!

This reminds me of when the first unibody jeep grand Cherokee came out (93?) I was deer hunt and at the bottom of a hill was brand new grand Cherokee that slide off of the trail and was against a pine tree. I had a PTO winch but the jeep had plastic bumpers with no hooks to attach to. I ended up giving the guy a ride to call a tow truck. Only way the tow truck driver could figure to pull it back on the trail was strapping the tire and using a snatch block off a tree then dragging it sideways. Not having a anchor point either front or rear must have been a jeep thing I didn't understand.
