I have decided to go and it will be my first time participating so it will be most likely the Wagon Run.
My 80 has OME medium lift (rear airbags), 35" recently bought, Arb front w/winch, sliders, my uncle is making me a rear bumper/swingout as of this writing, ARB rear locker ONLY (hoping to get front before June). She is mechanically sound, no leaks, 184k, and will do more rigid PM's as June gets nearer.
My question to the most experienced ones is, will my 2-2.5" lift suffice or do I have to get 4". I know there will be rubbing and flares will be torn and body damage, I have prepared my soul for that, or will probably remove the flares before hand.
Has anyone made it up there with the same lift? I really don't want to spend more $$$ on suspension if this will suffice.
Any tips/advice will be great... So fire away...
Thanks in advance.

You will be fine. I'm no expert (last year was my first time running the rubicon) but there were plenty of 80's with 2-3'' of lift and 35s. I even saw one or two with 33's and no body damage. The size of your lift really doesn't matter, its the clearance from running bigger tires that will help you out. I did deflare in preparation, which helped a bit with tire rubbing in the rear but again not absolutely necessary. Good set of sliders (and rear bumper) is a must though on an 80. Both will see plenty of use. Front locker will make things easier too and skid plate might not be a bad idea either. There was only one other 80 in my group (he had run the rubicon a few times) so following him really helped but that will be a non-issue on the wagon run. I think I'm going to do that one too so see you there! You will have an absolute blast!
Also....I wouldn't worry about bringing a trailer as your truck shouldn't have any problems making it. That's why 80s are so awesome, you can drive to and from the trail in relative comfort.
