The mod bug continues - I know you all understand...l I finally got my new Stubbs sliders installed! :D After additional fabricating, getting coated with Inyati lining, I finally got them welded to the frame yesterday. The pass side has a leg that crosses under and between the 2 cats for protection - will make me breathe easier doing up and overs. Those cats arent cheap! Thick wall tubing and great welds from a guy I know that has a nice mig welder and cut off wheel. The Inyati lining is a great surface also for when the wife and kids use as a step and wont slip. Now to plan a trail trip...

They look good. Is that Inyati just a bedliner type coating?

Nice! what a clean cruiser!

Yes, its bedliner coating like Line-X. Theyre also now putting in a top coat of UV protectant so it wont fade out like the sprayed in bedliners used to. Supposed to keep it looking new. He says if I gouge it I can use JB Weld mixed with a tad of black spray paint and goop it on then texture it with a toothbrush. It depends on how well it holds up against rocks - I guess Ill find out!

Did you get your Sequoia wheels, spacers, skid plate installed on your '96? Your 80 is gonna be set up nicely by the time your done (drool drool). I wanna see some pics - lots of them! By the way what is the size tire designation (i.e. 31575r17?) will you run for the 17's to make them the 35's you mentioned? I take it your running 31/33's right now?

Thanks.
I put the skid plate on wednesday. IPOR has a great product, It fit perfecty and makes the factory skid look like tin foil. Im running stock wheels and 31"s for now. I am waiting for Slee to send the lift before I put the spacer, wheels, and tires on. They are 35 12.50 r17 Cooper STT's. I will post some pics up when its all finally together. Can't wait!

Very nice!

Sig line- Rear Air Bags? WTF?

Did you gusset the legs at all?

Rear air bags for when I'm towing the full trailer and a truck full of family - usually only need about 25 lbs of air in them. Keeps the rear end from sagging and gives a feeling of more control on highway, and keeps my hitch up a little more when Im pulling the trailer down an off-camber, rut filled dirt road which I do.

Yes, but only gusseted the pass side becasue it has only 3 legs vs the drivers side 4.

BTW, what is the other 7/8's?:grinpimp:

Looks Sweet, Might have to copy you.

cat side pics

Thanks alot guys, Heres the cat side bar pic that was requested. I shouldve included in first set of pics.... BTW, these are sliders from Stubbs welding out of CA. Richard there is a first rate guy and makes sliders for Toyotas. This was a custom set (Has only made one set previously for a '93 Fj80 which was flat like a running board. He changed the cant to approx. 15% and turns out the cat converter set up is different on a 96 so I had to modify one of the legs on the pass side.) which required cutting, welding, fitting. The frame is far from straight - lots of curves, angles, bends! Only worthwhile if you or you know someone who is a good cut/weld guy and has the equipment. Comes staight rolled steel but is heavy guage and the welds are expertly done. Quality stuff.
