Always fun stripping a few decades of crud off the bottom of a truck. Fair amount of rust along the inside rockers

The Merc is on the table, springs and bump stops pulled. Sits 3" lower than stock in the photos. Axles are set at 13" center.

Wire wheels on grinder, wire bits on drill and a needle scaler
 
A lot of the heavy stuff scrapes off pretty well with a stiff scraper. It's just a time consuming, zero enjoyment kind of process. Can always tell where the rear pinion and the output flange of the t case are located :)

De greased it all first.

Been using an Eastwood hand crank bead roller for a while. Just added this Mitler Bros 36" adjustable bead to the shop.

Haha right about my transfer case the epoxy base looks brand new 😁
 
I think that is when it really looks it's best. Stripped to bare metal/initial primer and epoxy primer sprayed. Looks factory fresh. We set the body on the roller today and the rockers down is the best looking part of the truck!
