Does anyone have any info or papers on what a FJ40 cost when they were new?

I bought my '78 in Dec. '77 for $6200. The sticker price was about $6800.

bought my 73 for an even 4000,00 still have the sticker from 1973.

Mine optioned out at $8740.50. The original owner (Mr. Bob Morgan) payed $7780.68 out the door, plus $250 in free gas.

I don't have a picture of my own window sticker handy, but here's one:

18mpg highway. LOL. Right...

New Landcruiser price

So far I win, paid $3310.00 for my brand new FJ40 in 1970. Actually, I worked for the dealership (Downey Toyota), which is where Downey Off Road Manufacturing began. The owner of the dealership did give me a slight discount because the window sticker was $3400.00 and change.

I went there just to see it. I believe it was 1979, rught after high school
At that time it was just Downey and Man-a-Fre. I guess Con Ferr could qualify as a Land Cruiser specialist

IIRC, for perspective, a late-70s Camaro Z28, was a little over $4K.

I have the original stuff for my 1969 and it was 2500.00 which included a dealer installed winch made by bellview.

Wow,Those are some great prices. Wish I could find a new one for that now.

I have the sale receipt from when my Granddad bought it in 1969. He bought it from his neighbor who was drafted to go to Vietnam 3 months after buying the cruiser new. $2250, I would post a picture of it but its in my safe at work.
