I just scored a 1977 chinook that is pretty cheery. I really want to SAS it. Can you SAS the 1977 2wd frame? I have everything to do a SAS for a 87. . Ill leave it alone if I have to swap the frame

many late 70's SAS's out there with dana30 up front done by a company way back. Shouldn't be too hard to do - measure, cut, weld. I don't see any reason for a frame swap.

My first thought? An engine swap before the SAS.

Spencer Low, Low Manufacturing. They did a lot of innovative things, and he was an icon in desert racing. ORMHOF - Legends Live at the Hall of Fame - Spencer Low - https://ormhof.org/?view=article&id=187&catid=9

I recall comparing my '86 2WD turbo truck's frame at the front to my '84 Xcab 4WD and the rails themselves looked similar if not the same. The '88 4rnnr's 4WD IFS rails at the front are nothing like them.
