Hi y’all, 1st post here. Just pulled the trigger on a 2012 Sequoia SR5 4x4. Shes gonna need new tires right away, I would like to do a Bilstein lift, move down from 20s to 17s and run 285/75-17s. Probably going to go with 6112s up front and Dobinsons 1.75 rear.
There is a good amount of info out there on wheel and tire fitment, but I haven’t seen much on the maximum tire size for the stock spare location. The Tundra guys are fitting up to 35’s but the Sequoia already looks tight with the stock spare.
What is the max size you guys have stuffed in the stock location?

That's the exact lift I did for my 14'........love it!

I went with 275/70-18's on mine and the spare fit fine. According to Tiresize.com, these are 33.2" in diameter. Your 285/75-17's are 33.8". I think you will have room as that would be just another 1/2" total, 1/4" on each end. I am not sure what the max size you can fit under there though. If I remember I will try to measure under there tonight after work.

Excellent, thank you for the reply. Reading your lift post now, great info!

Do you happen to remember your wheel offset? Great stance.

Those are Method 701 in 18”. That is +25 back spacing. I have the same rims.

Thanks to all who replied, I feel a bit better about fitting a 34” spare. I ordered 6112s and the Dobinsons 1.75s, the Dobinson springs are unfortunately backordered for 10+ weeks, they are coming on the slow boat from Australia. If anyone knows anyone who has them in stock please let me know!

Looking to buy 5x701s to mount 5x 295/70-18s (34.3") b/c if I do get a flat I want them to be similar size and stance for the long ride home. So an 18x9 rim with a a 34 on it will fit in the spare tire well?

Yes it will. I don’t recall the exact size of my spare. My mains are 35s o. 18x9 rims. The spare is just slightly smaller, around 34, on the original spare rim. I will try to remember to check later. It is really stuffed in there. I would be surprised if much larger would fit.

Finally got it in, Bilstein 6112, SPCs, 1.5” rear spacers, Dobinsons rear shocks, method 316s +25, bfg ko2s 285/75/17, front mudflaps removed, no rubbing. Awaiting Dobinsons 1.75 rear springs arriving in 2023.

What notch do you have the 6112’s at? Heres a chart I found showing the different heights with each Mitch:
