Hello All

Kande and I are very excited that we just made a feature article in TCT magazine, we have been working hard to get Lexy all lined out. We spent a large portion of last summer traveling and Lexy has served us very well. No problems to report.

We hope we can inspire you to be "Adventure Driven" too

Thanks
Seth

Congratulations! I was not sure about that front bumper but after comparing it to all the others out there I am leaning towards it. I believe the angles are deceiving from what someone may initially think unless they see it in person. Post more videos up now

thanks so much, we are so happy things are working out for us, its been a long rocky road full of hard work, we are so lucky to have a truck like Lexy. We will have some you tube videos coming out soon showing all the systems on the truck, you guys should get a kick out of it :)

Very nice rig and article! I joined up just to say so. I'll be adding a GX to my stable in the next couple months, can't wait!

Awesome - congratulations!

I'd like to swing by sometime and check out your rig...I need to figure out how to run a dual battery setup. There's a possibility I'll be on the east coast for work later this year, so I might stop at SSS for a bumper (and maybe I can persuade them into building a set of KDSS sliders).

Sure I could show you the battery system, it was pretty easy to get going. I have Metal Tec sliders and I do have KDSS like you do, was a small mod to make them fit but all is good now. We will be at the Overland Expo in May here in flagstaff, Lexy will be on display there.

If I'm still in AZ, I will be there - I might be in NJ then, though. Did you just have to adjust one leg on the driver's side slider?

ok, cool. Yes I had to adjust the middle leg and tweak some KDSS lines, no big one, the are rock solid now

Congratulations Seth! That is a very nice looking rig you have there.

Congrats, very cool. Was looking back at the article on Expedition Portal about your build and the floor mats caught my eye. Who makes those?

Matt

I snagged them off of e-bay, I am not sure if they are still up there for sale or not.

Thanks
Seth

Hey Seth, congrats on the article.

I was looking into the Icon 2.0 bumpstops, it looks like I could buy that kit and that would be all I need to convert the rear to springs. Or is there other hardware needed? If I'm gonna spend 200 something on a rubber bump stop from metal tech I might as well spend 700 and get hydraulic bump stops :meh: :hillbilly:

The Metal Tech kit lets you run coil springs instead of the OEM air bags. The Icon bumpstops are just bumpstops and won't assist with the spring conversion.

I should have been more specific, not just the bumpstops but this kit...which I believe is what Seth is running.

I think I'll still need this...

Instead of this...

Ahhh, I see!

I'm interested in the answer as well. I might end up spending more on my suspension than I intended. :p

Yes you are right on the money with the links above, thats is what I did. Worked out very good.

oh I just remembered that I did not use the bolt to secure the bottom spring perch to axle housing, I welded it to axle as the bump stop will come into contact with the puck/spring perch under full compression. you will here an audible little click when it hits, you got to really hit something big to get it to cycle, they are a nice improvement for sure

Seth

By any chance did you get the tow hitch option on your SSS rear bumper? If so I am curious what your thought was compared to the stock tow hitch. Since my reason for switching from an 80 to a 470 would be to tow a small travel trailer.

Yes I did get the tow hitch, no real differance in from the stock piece I can tell. The GX tows very well
