Trail weathered, and Trail Ready!

And as of now... Sporting the brand new rollers...
Wheels: Trail Ready 20x9's. Sand blasted with clear powder coat.
Tires: 12.50R20 Michelin XL. That's 40.7" diameter. Center lugs siped.
Beadlocks: InnerAirLocks.
The dreamiest rolling combo I can possibly imagine for expedition tripping. No balancing what-so-ever and they are silky smooth on the highway.

Other Expo bits include:
Technitop on a Rhino Rack, along with a Foxwing Awning. Also mounted up top are LED flood lights for side and rear illumination, and a 30" light Bar on the rack for bleaching the tarmac in front of me.
Aluminum rear rack holds spare, water, fuel and propane.
Auxillary Battery, an Engle 45 on a drop slide for cooler duties, and a Waeco35 on freeze patrol.
A Weather Guard Pack Rat drawer is full of tools and spares.
a 24v ARB Twin compressor provides air.
A 1500W 24V inverter makes household power.
Various electronics include a netbook laptop, Garmin Oregon 500, Galaxy Notebook Phablet, and Sirius Satelite Radio all mounted on Ram Mounts on a accessory bar above the dash board. A ham radio and stereo round out the electronics.

Drivetrain includes a polished and port matched 13BT pushing 21 lbs boost. 5 speed into a Marlin 4.8 Toybox, into a 'Home-made-mcnamarra' gear in the Split Case. 4.88's in the diffs with factory diff locks. Suspension is sprung over, with a Bam-bar on wrap-patrol in the rear, and a few helper coils over the rear leaves.

We're heading down to the Moab area for 2 weeks of desert exploration. I want to find where Thelma and Loise launched their car, and walk in the canyon where dude cut his own arm off. After Kokopelli and White Rim, it will be over to Elephant Hill, then south on Devils Lane and points south to Halls Crossing. From there, we'll take Burr Trail and portions of hole in the rock as we make our way across the desert, hopefully getting to North Rim of the Grand Canyon before our time runs out.

We leave on Saturday... Very excited.
Zed's tires.webp

Neat setup. Beware Blue John Canyon. It is a challenging trail in cooler weather even with two arms. It also has sections of mud more than waist deep in the summer. Be well prepared/planned out if you take it. John

I like this version of ziplock the best. Did you get the spare's bead to seat? I forgot to get measurements of your bead lock. Let me know if you ever happen to tear a sidewall - I can get them then. :). Bon voyage!

Looks great. Even Jen smiled at the tires!

Have a safe trip.

"baby behemoth"
looking at the pic again i can see a family resemblance...

Curious ..

1. Did you upgrade your front axle birf and shafts .?

2. Have pics of your " Mc.Namarra " creation along with the Toy box ...?

I believe peters running longfields with longfield hub gears.

I would love to spend time behind the wheel of a cruiser like that touring all over BC and the west coast. I dont think our 100 would fit in the garage with those tires. Any idea how much the wheel and tire combo weighs?

To mount the Rhino Racks, I purchased a set of 'Fiberglass Top' rails, which are designed to be mounted to a fibergalss pick-up truck canopy. They drill through the top and mount directly to the top. I have the same rails on my Dodge, and can move the whole tent/awning set-up over to the Dodge if the mood strikes me so.

Rhino Rack - Product Range

I have the 'Rhino Heavy Duty Cap / Topper "Track Mount"'

The tires are 105lb each. The wheels are about 40lbs I think. The inner air locks are maybe another 5 lbs. No doubt they are heavy. But they ride NICE on the back country roads. The big diameter is larger than most wheels that form the washboard, so they tend to ride the tops of most washboard to smooth it out.

wow!! beautiful.. i almost didnt recognize your truck.. it was missing fenders and most of a top last time i saw it at River shiver.. this makes me want a set of tires for mine!! again, very nice!! safe travels!!
