Any evidence that the truck was repainted along the way? I'm surprised at how nice the rear quarters are - no evidence of rust, and you can't even see the spot welds.

I agree with the other post - goat cruiser looks better and better by the day....

Never been repainted. Here you can see the spot welds.

Normally when you can't see the spot welds was because of repair or being filled in during a repaint. These were sold as utility vehicles and spot welds were not filled in at the factory. Over time as areas have gotten weaker from rust or bouncing off road the spot weld dipples do get larger as the metal thins or stretchs but the spot weld were always there.

^Agreed - that's why I asked. The pictures make them very hard to see, which I would have guessed to be due to a repair/repaint. But it's probably just the lighting and angles in the photos.

engine is in good shape.

Work on the stuff outside of the block :)

Carb rebuild kit and Clutch master ordered. Hope to be driving soon. Looking for some good used 15 inch tires to run until I can get serious about the reconditioning process. Lots of rat chewed wires being replaced.

I did not look back enough to pay attention, did you adjust the valves too?

Not yet, will adjust after up and running.

without a valve adjustment, that's a great set of numbers. I am curious to see what they get to affter an adjustment.
