I do have the bows from a hard top, but have no idea how the soft top version differs. I'm told it has a slot for the soft top, but haven't seen any photos yet. If I can't find them stateside I'll try eshan. Thanks for the tip!

Shane,

Thanks. These on e-Bay look to be for the hardtop, and if I don't find the soft top version I'll bid on these and start thinking about fabricating a set. Hope not to do that!

I have never had a soft top cruiser, well I did at 16 and it was replaced with a best top.........So I have no idea what they would look like. if you can mod them up later like people have sudjested do so.......anyway if you can buy those cheap do it!.. you can always sell them later.

Yup. I got my door bows to complete my soft top off of Ebay about 2 years ago. IIRC, they were about $50 for the pair. They were Ehsan's.;)

My bows are off the truck right now, so if you remind me to bring the camera home from the shop [which means calling the shop] I will snap a pic of one for ya. They are quite similar to the hardtop ones. The other basic difference besides the canvas channel on top is the notch at the back end of the rail where it slips around the forward vertical hoop. Hope that makes sense.

santacruzer...i don't know if you got a set of the door pieces yet ...but ...have you tried to see if paul @ http://www.heritagesheetmetal.com/40seriessofttopframes.html could just make those two pieces...it wouldn't be too bad to ship just those out.

This is Jonathon Ward at www.TLC4x4.com give him a call at 1-818-785-2200 Let him know you got the frame from me and asked if he could help you out. Tell him he owes me:D

Best,

Shane

FYI FOXFAB here has reporduction clamps for the rear bars. PM him to see what he has and going to have.

I asked him (Jonathon) via e-mail about getting some bow pieces. He said he would only sell complete sets:(

I just need the rear bows and hardware.

I also asked heritage about making just the top bows, and got the same response. I don't know enough about manufacturing to understand why they wouldn't want to try that, but maybe in the future...I suspect there may be an opportunity for them.

In the meantime, I picked up a complete set of Ehsan's bows also, but I'd still take the tops if anyone runs across a set! I'm going to buy a second truck one these days.

Ahhh too bad...alot of people look for the occational piece or two to fix an old set, maybe if they know more people have a need for individual parts they would make pieces on order. a full set cost about $570 but if they get $100 here and there for pieces it would add up over that ...about 700+ when you markup individual pieces.

my 2cents :)

Paul does make great stuff...doesn't he!!
